As you stood in the Room of Requirement with Draco while he worked on the cabinet, you heard the sound of something heavy hit the ground.
"Guess someone's out there" Draco said and went back to the cabinet.
"Is that your signal not to leave?" You asked. Draco nodded. "I'm going to go look around some more." You said when you got board of standing there. "I seem to find new things each time I explore this place."
"Alright." Draco answered you, zoned out. He wasnt exactly himself as he usely zoned out these days. His figure had become thinner and pale. You worried about him but understand that he was like this because of the stress he was under.
You wondered around and found the Mirror of Erised again. You sat down in front of your future family the mirror showed you. Dreaming about how nice life would be, you thought about how un-stressed Draco would be if he didn't have to do things for him.
"Still seeing the same thing?" Draco asked some time later. The sound of his voice yanked you from your fantasy. You nodded.
"Make any progress?" You asked, standing up. Draco shook his head in disappointment.
"What am I going to do if I don't get it fixed?" He asked as the two of you headed to the exit.
"We'll figure it out." You reassured him on your way down to lunch. "I know you will."
A few more days went by and the bright blue sky told you that summer was around the corner. You went to your classes and later that day was the Appartition exam. And as you would have joined the rest of the sixth-year students in the entrance hall, you were still only sixteen. You would be seventeen this comming summer and would be taking the test then.
Later that night you sat with Draco for dinner, because Sam, who was seventeen and took the test, still wasn't speaking to you, which confused you. One minute she seems ok with Draco and the next, she's hating him again. Sabastien, on the other hand, was as friendly as ever.
"Hey, (y/n)." Sabastien said waving. You waved back as he walked over to the Slytherin table. "Are you nervous to take the test this summer?" He asked, once he had sat across from you and Draco.
"Go away, you blood trader." One of the third year Slytherins said with disgust. Sabastien was from a purblood line but was labeled as such because his girlfriend, Sam, who from a muggle family. Sabastien ignored the remark and waited for you to answer. You glared across the table at the Slytherin boy who made the remark. You were also a "blood trader" because as a pureblood, (although for the longest time you thought you were from a muggle family) was friends with the same muggle born witch, even if she was mad at you.
"(Y/n)?" Sabastien said for you were still glaring at the boy.
"A little." You admitted, looking up at your friend. "But no more than anyone else. How did you and Sam do?" You asked. Draco, who was use to your friends being around, just sat there as you held your conversation.
"I passed no problem. But..." He looked as Sam, who was sitting at the Hufflepuff table." Well, she'll have to take it again."
"Serves her right." The third year said. "A Mud-blood shouldn't even be allowed to Apparate."
"I see." You said sadly, ignoreing the boy. You looked at Sam then back at Sabastien. "Well in any case, congrats to you." You said smiling.
"Thanks." Sabastien smiled back. "Well, I just wanted to say hi before I go sit with Sam." He turned to leave then flipped back around. "Oh, can you not tell Sam I told you she failed the test? It would just upset her."
"No problem. My lips are sealed." You assured him.
"...Filthy little Mud-bloods. How can they be allowed to be one of us." The boy continued on. He was now talking to his friends.
"Will you just shut it, Prewett?" Draco snapped. "You sound like an idiot over there." You looked as Draco shocked.
"You shut it, Malfoy! You've gone soft anyways." Prewett shot back. Draco pulled his wand out but you pushed it down.
"Are you trying to get detention or expelled? Don't let him anger you." You whispered.
"See, you're soft." The boy looked at you. "And it's her fault. She's made you weak, like her."
"My fault?" You asked with sarcasm, glaring at him again. The kid's fork slowly pulled out of his hand as if an invisible man was taking it away. "And I'm weak?"
"Prewett, I wouldn't cross her." Crabbe whispered.
"She's nothing but a Hufflepuff. She's not going to hurt me." He replied.
"He's right." Draco said calmly, putting his wand away. "(Y/n) has a bit of a temper when you insult the people she cares about."
"Yeah, ok" the kid said and grabbed his fork out of the air. "Maybe you should grow a back bone." Draco shot him a dirty look. However, Prewett didn't get a chance to see it because just as he has finished his insult, he was pushed backwards off his seat. "What the bloody hell!?" He said getting up. "What the hell is going on?"
"Do not insult Draco!" You spoke slowly. "And trust me, he is NOT weak, and neither am I."
"What?" He said confused and angry. "Did you just push me with a spell?"
"No, I did not." You replied. "Well, not with a spell." You said truthfully. "I don't need my wand."
"I would also suggest not calling her friend names." Draco spoke calmly. "Like 'blood trader' and 'Mud-blood'."
"Well, that's what they are." Prewett plopped back down on the bench to only be pushed back again.
"You know what you are?" You asked him as he stood up once more. "A bully. You pick on others to make yourself feel better."
"Yeah, and bullying me isn't a good idea." Draco said.
"Why? Because you use to be like me? Give me a break." Prewett replied. "I'm nothing like you."
"No, you're not like Draco." Perkinson said. "Compared to Draco, you're a kitten." The kid gave her a dirty look. For once, you agreed with Perkinson. "Let me ask you this. You want to give another student a scare, what do you do?" She asked.
"I ah..." He looked at his friends. "I use a spell to lift them into the air. Yeah that's it." He answered turning back.
"Serpensortia." Draco said calmly. "You know, summon a snake. Most people are scared of them and scares more then just the one."
"See, you're a kitten." Perkinson said and looked at Draco.
"Now will you shut it already?" Draco asked him sounding exhausted and annoyed. You could tell he was done with this conversation. Draco didn't wait for an answer. He stood and walked away. You fallowed after him.
"I'm tired." He said sleeply in the corridor. "So, I'm off to an early bed." He said good night and headed off to the Slytherin common room while you went to the Hufflepuff one.
