Time flew by and classes were going good. You were even doing ok in potions. You hadn't spoke to Malfoy in weeks. Even in the classes where he was, he didn't bother trying to get you talk to him. You did catch him watching you from time to time though.

You were sitting in charms class, which you had again with the Slytherins. Malfoy sat on the other side of the room with his friends.

"Look who's watching you again." Sam said nudging you.

"I know he's watching me." You told her, holding back a smile, without turning your focus to him. "But if I look over there, he'll blush and trun away."

"You think so?" Sam was acting like she wanted to see him blush.

"You wanna see, huh?" You were trying your hardest to not smile.

"Yes" she admitted in a small whisper. "It would be funny." You smiled this time.

"Ok just give me a minute to compose myself." You took a deep breath and calmed down. Then you looked over at Malfoy. You eyes met and Malfoy did, indeed, trun a light pink and looked down.

"Wow, he actually did blush." Sam was amused. You kept looking his way. It had been a few weeks, and he hadn't been mean to anyone that you knew of. Maybe he had gotton the message you were trying to get to him. He looked back up and met your eyes again. You smiled and went back to your work.

"He's comming this way." You heard sam say, while you packed up your stuff, "I'll let you catch up." She continued before leaving the room. You didn't bother looking up. You may have been less angry with Malfoy, but you were still upset with him. Last year he called you a 'mudblood', and you had learned to just ignore his stupidity; however, this time he had said it with a cold tone to another muggle-born.

"Your still mad at me, aren't you?" Malfoy said. You didn't look up but nodded. You picked up your bag and left the room, headed to your next class.

"Hey, (l/n)!" Malfoy said, as you felt yourself being pulled back.

"What the hell, Malfoy!" You regained your posture. "What is wrong with you. You don't get your way, so you pull on me!" You yelled at him, and stormed off. Now you were livid with the pureblood moron. What was his problem?

The rest of the day went by without a problem. It was time for your free time and you discovered yourself sitting outside. The courtyard was full of trees turning to the fall colors of oranges and reds, as the sun set in the distance. You were enjoying the beautiful evening and not setting your focus on much more, when you felt a hand on you shoulder. You truned to see who it was. Then looked back to the scenery.

"What do you want?" You asked coldly. Malfoy sat down next to you.

"I don't understand why you act like you hate me." He said sadly. You looked at him and opened your mouth to speak, but was cut off. "And before you tell me, I know you don't hate me. It's just that we're a few weeks into the year, and you've been mad at me the whole time." He looked at the sky. "I know that your mad at me, and I do understand why. It's been weeks now. I've gone out of my way to not make you angrier with me, and you're still mad at me."

"I was only a little mad at you before you yanked me back after class today." You said coldly, never once looking at him.

"I was only..." he began, but then trailed off. You ignored him. The two of you set there silently for a while before it was time to head to the common rooms. You stood up to leave when heard Malfoys voice.

"I'm sorry." He said standing up himself. Then walked into the castle.

A few more days went by and it was Halloween. You were at the fest the school put on every year. Dumbledore had hired some dancing skeletons for entertainment. When the festivities were over the students were heading back to their houses when they all stoped. Mrs. Norris, the caretaker's cat, was hanging on the torch bracket by her tail. Potter and his two friends stood in the hall in front of the cat. The wall reading 'The chamber has been opened. Enemies of the heir beware'

"Enemies of the heir beware," Malfoy read. "You'll be next mudbloods." He continued pushing his way to the front of the ground. You shot Malfoy a dark cold look.

Filtch, the caretaker, came running into the large gathering. He started to accuse Potter of killing his cat. It was then Dumbledore came to the sence and told everyone to move along, and for students to go straight to their houses. You were fully angery at Malfoy all over again. How could he call all the muggle-borns 'mudbloods' at once along with threnten them. Besides, what chamber had been opened, and what heir? It didn't make sence to you at all.

The Hufflepuffs and the Slytherins were going down the same path before they would split apart. You and Sam pulled Malfoy out of the line of the Slytherins, with his friends not noticing he just vanished.

"We're next?" Sam asked him coldly. You glared at him. Malfoy stood there not sure what to say, looking from you to Sam.

"Do you want me to hate you?" You asked him. He shock his head. "You're asking for me to." You wanted to slap him. "I wasn't mad at you anymore, you know." You sounded disappointed and speaking solemnly as you went on. "and now, I....I can't. I just can't." You waved your hand as if he had offered you something and you didn't want it. You truned and left.

Draco's pov

Draco watched as you walked away leaving Sam behind. 'She hates me. She says she doesn't, but she does.' He thought, as Sam was telling him off. He wasn't listening to her though. He didn't want you to hate him. Draco looked at Sam.

"Tell (y/n) I'm sorry." He said and walked back to his friends with his eyes soaked with tears that wanted to fall.
