You walked around the grounds for a while. Why did you allow Perkinson to get you all worked up? She has always been that way. Perkinson knew that it would upset you if she called your friend a 'mudblood'. You finally calmed down and headed back inside. Most of the students had already left the Great Hall. Sam and Sebastian were sitting at the Hufflepuff table talking. It looked like things between them had gone back to normal. Over at the Slytherin table, however, was the third year girl and her friend. They were watching Sebastian carefully. Draco was sitting at the other end with his head slightly tilted over some parchment. You walked over and sat down beside him. He didn't budge.
"What are you working on?" You asked and watched as he sat up, spilling his ink over the table. You laughed, but didn't mean too. You slapped your hand over your mouth to stop the laughter. Draco just smiled at you and pulled his wand out. Waving it, the ink disappeared from the table.
"Now your bottles empty. I'm sorry. I didn't..." you started to apologize.
"It's ok, (y/n)." Draco said and rummaged threw his school bag. "I have another bottle of ink in here somewhere."
"So, what are you working on?" You asked again, looking at the parchment he was writing on. "That's not one of our normal classes."
"No, it's for one of the electives I'm taking." Draco replied plainly, as he set the new ink bottle on the table.
"You'll just have to cast a spell." You heard a girl say. You looked up and saw the 3rd year girls from earlier walking by.
"Well, the potion wasn't strong enough. So yeah, I'll cast it on Sebastian tomrrow." The other one said.
"I'll be right back." You whispered to Draco and kissed him on the cheek.
"Ok." Draco said while keeping his eyes on his work. You got up and walk up behind the girls.
"Cast a spell? On Sebastian? Now, I know I didn't here that right." You said. The girls flipped around, looking scared.
"Why are you after him anyways?" You asked in curious tone.
"Uh, I, uh..." the girl who had the crush on Sebastian stumbled.
"That's none of your business." The other one spat.
"You know, if you put a spell on people to fall for you, it's not real." You said.
"What do you know about it!" The first one asked.
"What are your names?"
Draco's pov
You sat the two girls down at the empty Gryffindor table and joined them, as Draco watched. You didn't realize he was watching though.
"Well, you know who I am." You said to the two.
"Yeah." The second girl said shyly.
"So, what are your names?" You asked once more.
"I'm, Astoria Greengrass." The second girl said. You looked at the other girl, who was now watching Sebastian again. "And this is Sarah Carrow." Carrow looked back you.
"And you like Sebastian?" You asked.
"Yes, and he only pays attention to that hufflepuff mudblood." Carrow spat.
"Well, that 'mudblood' is my best friend." You spoke calmly.
'She's not going to tell them to back off sam?' Draco thought as he continued to listen.
"Oh..." Carrow said quietly. "I didn't mean..."
"Can I asked you why you call people of muggle heritage a 'mudblood'?" The two girls look at with with a confused look. Draco did the same thing. Didn't you already know, that it was because the parents did it? You looked at Draco and caught him looking at you with the same confused look.
Your pov
"You see," You said as you stood up between the two tables. "I have this theory." You climbed over the table and sat down beside Draco.
"What are you going on about?" Draco asked, looking at you like you had lost your mind.
"A child born to a magical family is called a squib, right?" You said. The three of them nodded. Carrow moved to sit across from you. Greengrass soon fallowed and sat across from Draco. "Now what if that squib married another squib? The chances of their child being born without magical powers are high, right?" Draco's eyes flickered with realization. "Now that child is raised as a muggle child. And the child married someone who was in the same perdicament, wouldn't the child they have still be, technically, a descendant of the pureblood lines? What if, this last child was born, was born with magical powers? You call them a 'mudblood' but in reality, the 'mudblood' doesn't actually have muggle blood at all, but was rasied as a normal, every day child, because that's how their parents were raised." Draco sat there with a look of shock. The two girls looked at each other.
"Now you see, I don't know if Sam is this way or not, but I do know, that Sam is my friend. She's smart and talented. And you shouldn't call people names. Sebastian loves Sam, not because she's a pureblood or a muggle-born, but because she's sweet and thinks of others..."
"That's why I love (y/n)." Draco interrupted you and pulled you into a side ways hug. You smiled at him then looked back at Carrow.
"If you want Sebastian to like you, talk to him. He'll be your friend." You said.
"But he's still with her." Carrow said.
"Well," you looked behind her. "This whole time, you've had someone eyeing you." You said smiling. Draco nodded. Carrow truned around and the boy sitting at the Hufflepuff table truned bright red and looked away.
"That would be Keven Flint." You said. Waving your hand for him to come over. He was a fourth year student. You had over heard him talking to his friends a few times about a Sarah Carrow from Slytherin a few times, but payed no attention. Now, you understood. Keven shook his head no when you waved him over.
"Go talk to him." You said. "He sweet."
"Are you mad?" Carrow asked you. "I'm not gonna go talk to him. He's a Hufflepuff."
NOTE: Yes the theory is my own. I've been looking for a way to sneak it into the this story.
