You curled up on your side on the couch feeling sad that Draco was being distant again. (N/n) snuggled into arms while the pygmie puffs started playing on the floor again. Morning couldn't come fast enough for you. You didn't sleep a wink because your brain wouldn't stop thinking. 'Why didn't Draco just go with you if he was gonna sneak in anyways?' You asked yourself over and over. The fire was almost out, when the door opened. You could hear foot step walking closer to the couch.
"There you are?" Draco's voice filled the room. He sounded annoyed. You didn't bother to sit up. "(Y/n), are you going home or not?" You rolled over onto your back. Draco was looking over the back of the couch at you. "The train will be in Hogsmead soon." You got up and put the three pets in their carrier. Draco stood there and watched you while you did so. You handed Draco the pets and walked past him without a single word. You weren't mad at him; you just feel like talking.
After you changed out of the dress you were still in from the Christmas party the night before, you went back down to the Great Hall with your luggage floating behind you. You met up with the rest of the students that was going home for Christmas.
"Is Sam and Sabastien staying?" Asked Draco from behind you. You turned around and nodded. "My friends are staying too."
"Even Perkinson?" You asked shocked. She usely fallowed Draco every where.
"Yup, it's just us." Draco replied happily. You barded the train and it didn't take long before Draco asked, "what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just don't feel like talking." You said, feeling a bit distant yourself and watched things pass by out the window.
"Are you mad?" He asked. You shook your head. "Then why are you acting like you are?"
"We've grown apart this year." You said, looking at him. Draco didn't reply but he looked shocked. "We have." You said and looked back out the window.
"What do you mean? We're not that far apart." Draco sounded befuddled. You looked around Draco again.
"Tell me something," you said completely serious. "How would you feel if I despaired for hours on end, didn't show up to class, missed my favorite activity, and just all around acted differently than I normally did?"
"I would start to worry about..." Draco replied.
"How would you feel if you asked me what was going on and all I said was 'I don't want you to get hurt.' And for the weeks I kept that up." You asked him, cutting him off.
"I..."
"Then you invite me to a party. I decline and show up anyways." You said, not letting Draco speak. "What would you think?" You started to feel a little angry now that you had said it all out loud.
"I didn't mean to hurt you." Draco said, finally getting the chance to speak. You looked out the window. "I wish I could explain, but I just can't. You know that."
"I do know that and I know who's to blame." You said coldly. "And when we get home, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind."
"I don't think that's a good idea." Draco said sounding a little cautious.
"I don't care. Also I want to know how he saved my mom when she was pregnant with me." You looked back at Draco. His expression seemed confused. "I'm gonna straight up asked him."
"Sometimes, you're scary." Draco admitted. "You're not afraid?"
"No. I am not scard of a noseless, controlling, freak." You replied.
"You're lucky. If anyone else talked to him like you do, well, we would end up dead." Draco said.
"Yeah, and I want to know what's up with that too." You replied. The capartment feel silent after that. You watched out the window for a while before closing your eyes. You woke some time later to Draco's voice.
"(Y/n), we've arrived." Draco said, lighting shaking your shoulder. You sat up and noticed he had draped his Slytherin robes over you. You smiled. He hadn't done that in a long time. You got off the train and used flew powder to get home. You stepped out of the fire place to find that no one was there.
"Where is everyone one?" You asked looking around. The house wasn't even decorated for the holidays.
"Don't know. Mother did say that she wouldn't be here when we arrived." Draco replied and headed upto his room with his luggage. You did the same.
After letter the pets run free, you unpacked and layer down on your bed. It was way bigger than what you were use to at the school. You stared at the ceiling when you heard the door open.
"Wanna do something before everyone comes back?" Draco asked. You sat up and looked at him.
"Like what?" You asked back. There wasn't much to do at the manner.
"I don't know..." Draco replied and walked over to the bed. "We could have a snow ball fight."
"Yeah, ok" You said sarcastically. "And when everyone comes back, we would be covered in snow. How mad do you think He will be?"
"Yeah," Draco sighed while sitting on the bed. "You're right. Then what do we want to do?"
"Well, we could just sit and visit with each other. We really haven't had a chance to do that lately." You suggested. Draco laid down on his back.
"I'm just so board." Draco wined, looking at the ceiling. "I hate coming here." He admitted. "You're the only thing that makes this place a bit brighter." He spoke in a casual tone and never took his eyes off the ceiling.
"Oh come on," you said, feeling a pink in the face. "It could be worse."
"How?" Draco asked and finally turned his head towards you.
"Well," you laid down beside him. "You could have your friends here to bug us." You said in a joking tone, but ment it deep inside. They drove you nuts. Crabb and Gyole both did what ever Draco said. Zabini was his little spy dog and Perkinson was his personal stocker.
