When the night finally ended, and you were laying in your dorm room, you thought about the train ride. You blushed a little thinking about how Draco let you use him as a pillow. You rolled over onto your side. Sam was sound alseep in her bed. She looked so peaceful.
The first day of classes started in the morning. You need to go to sleep, but Draco wouldn't get out of your head. He was just as irritating in your head as he was in life. He may be irritating but you liked him just the same. You smiled and closed your eyes. Before long you discovered yourself waking up the next morning.
At breakfast the next day, you sat at the Hufflepuff table with your friends. You heard yelling. It was a high pitched, angry voice. You looked over to where the voice was comming from. A red envelope was floting a few feet above the Gryffindor table next to Ron Weasley. It appeared to be yelling at him for taking a car. That must have been the car you saw crash into the tree outside not to long ago.
"That's a howler." Kathy informed you and Sam. The two of you were watching the commotion and much have looked confused. The whole Great Hall fell silent as the screaming howler went on. Then it flipped around to face the youngest Weasley child and spoke softly. It called her by name, Ginny, who then pulled away to hide herself from everyone. The poor girl was bright red.
Your first class was Transfiguration with the Slytherins. Draco sat next to you with Grabbe and Goyle on the other side of him. Did they still think you were a pureblood? Who cared anyways. Your freinds knew the truth and besides it wasn't like you told people you were a pureblood. Draco hadn't told them that either, to your knowledge. If they assumed it, then that was their fault.
At lunch time, you found your way to the courtyard. You spotted Potter and his friend, Ron. They were talking to a new Gryffindor, Colin Creevey, who was holding a regular, muggle camera. He was asking if he could get a photo of him with Potter together, and if Potter would sign it for him later on.
It wasn't long before you noticed Draco head that way with his little minions, who where far from little. Grabbe and Gyole were twice the size of their leader, Malfoy.
"Signed photos? You're giving out signed photos, Potter?" Draco's voice radiated threw out the grounds as he spoke. You had no idea he could talk so loudly. "Everyone queue up! Harry Potter's giving out signed photos!" He continued yelling to the near by crowds, waving his hand as if to display an invisible line of people.
You shook your head in grave disappointment. You knew that Draco would go back to this version of himself. It was only a matter of time, but did it have to be so soon? School did just start. Was he really going to act this way all year? You hoped not, but you knew he would because he was, after all, a jerk to Potter and his friends. Draco Malfoy was the school bully. Last year he had pointed out plenty of times you were a 'mudblood'. Why you liked him was a mystery to even you. That's why you didn't tell anyone about your feelings towards Malfoy. You were ashamed that the boy you had a small crush on was nothing more then a hudge, jerkish, bully. But you had seen his softer side. The Malfoy you saw in the summer time, the boy you slowly fell for, was nothing like the boy you saw now. Draco was two sided alright.
Leaning against a near by tree, only about a yard away, you watched them closely with a livid look on your face. Why did Malfoy have to make you so mad at him so soon? The young first year truned to Draco. He was visibly scared of the timadating Slytherin, but defended Potter anyways. Malfoy continued to make fun of the boys, but you weren't going to interfere this year. That is, unless it was going to cause physical harm. Even if you wanted to hit the spoiled brat, you would just stay back and watch.
Soon, you heard Weasley pipe up with, "Eat slugs, Malfoy!" You smiled. It was kind of funny to think about. Draco eating slugs? He did deserve it. Draco then mocked the screeching howler from that morning. The group of fith year Slytherins, who were standing near by, laughed along with Draco. You didn't think it was funny. You were growing angrier at him for being such a jerk. Were all the Slytherins like this?
"Weasley would like a signed photo, Potter. It'd be worth more than his family's whole house." Malfoy said, with an evil smile. It appeared that a fight was going to brake out when Ron pulled his broken wand out. You wanted to join in and slap Malfoy, but you held yourself back. Just as you landed agenst the tree once more, The new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor came strolling over and the boys stopped arguing.
The school was told the night before that Gildaroy Lockhart would be taking over the Defense Against the Dark Arts class this year. Although, you and a few other already knew that because he himself said it at his book signing back in Diagon Alley. He was already on your nerves though. He was more into himself then anyone else you knew, including the self serving Malfoys themselves.
"What's this, what's this?" Lockheart said, "Who's handing out signed photos?" He continued as he flung his arm around Potter. The Slytherins slipped away into the crowd, and you chased after them.
"Malfoy!" You called out to him in a sweet tone, sounding like you hadn't seen or heard anything that happend in the courtyard. Draco and his freinds stopped.
Draco's pov
"Go ahead guys, I'll catch up with you in class." He told the two boys with him. He stood there waiting for you to catch up thinking to himself. 'Am I in trouble with her again?' He was sure he was as your run truned to a walk. You must have heard what he said to Potter and Weasley. He felt like running but thought if he did that it would just make you angrier with him. You finally caught up.
"I..." he started before you cut him off.
"Don't even start." You said calmly but still cold. "You act so kind to me, so sweet. Then you go back to being nothing more then a JERK!" You walked solmly past him, wanting nothing to do with him, as the bell rang indicating the start of the afternoon classes.
