Draco's pov
You were sound asleep using the window as a pillow. Draco talked with his friends when you layed you head on his shoulder in your sleep. Draco blushed a little. 'Shes sleeping on me.' Draco thought to himself. His freinds didn't seem to notice him blush becuase they didn't react.
Your pov
You were woken by Draco tapping your shoulder. You opened you eyes and realized you were the only ones left in the cabin. Your head was resting on Draco's shoulder.
"Where did everyone go?" You said sleeply.
"We're here." He said. You lifted your head, and look at Draco while sitting up.
"You must have been sleepy, because you feel alseep only an hour into the train ride." Draco said standing up. You nodded, and the two of you fallowed the other first years to the boats. There was only one left, which the two of you climbed in to. You sat in silence for a bit before asking Draco a question.
"Why did you tell your friends my family was from America?"
"I told you why," he said annoyed. "Life at Hogwarts will be hell for you if anyone finds out your a mudblood."
"Why would anyone care if I am or not?" You said quietly to yourself, but Draco must have heard you because he answered.
"Pure-bloods come from a long line of other Pure-bloods," he started saying. "Most of us Pure-bloods only associate with other Pure-bloods. And as for the Malfoy family, we only associate with Pure-blood families that have strong relations to the Wizarding world."
You looked down at the water while he spoke. The water so dark it looked like your boat was floating on tar. Draco stoped talking and you could hear the chattering from the other boats.
"Well, I'm a Mudblood. I don't have any strong ties to this world. Why do you associate with me?" You asked sarcastically, looking back at him. Draco didn't answer, but looked into the water.
"Why did your friends leave you in the cabin with me?" You truned to asked Draco.
"I told them to go, and that I would wake you." He said very plainly while he looked forward to the Castle. You looked forward too.
"What a beautiful night," You spoke softly. Draco looked at you, but you kept looking forward. "The way the water reflects the other boats, while the night sky is full of fluffy clouds with the moon forcusing its way threw, makes the castle that much more stunning." You continued, still without taking your eyes off the beauty of the night. You wished you had something to paint it. It was so gorgeous, it would have made a beautiful painting. You were so busy admiring the night that you didn't notice Draco looking at you.
The two of you sat in the boat in silence for a short time, watching the castle grow closer. Draco spoke up again.
"What house do you think you'll be in?" He said with a smile, "I know I will be in Slytherin. My whole family has always been in Slytherin." You looked at him confused. Houses? What was he talking about.
"I don't know," you told him, hoping he would just stop asking.
"Well, you're really kind and you seem loyal," Draco said pondering where you would be placed. "Maybe in Hufflepuff..." he stoped talking, but kept thinking. You had no idea what he was talking about, so you just kept quite. "Well, if your brave enough to show up on my father's door step, you must be brave; maybe Gryffindor." He kept going. "Perhaps In Ravenclaw, you seem smart enough. You did train a niffler to act like a dog." You looked into the water, trying to ignore his ramblings.
"Well in any case, I doubt you'll be in Slytherin with me. There has never been a mudblood in Slytherin. Plus I don't think you have what it takes." You looked up at him.
"What do you mean by that!" You said angrily.
"Just that you don't seem like the kind of person that would be in Slytherin. You don't seem to have the qualities of a Slytherin." He replied looking shocked.
"And what qualities are those?!" You asked him in a harsh tone of voice.
"Leadership, cunning, ambition and resourcefulness." Draco timidity replied.
"You don't even know me that well, and you have the nerve to even think I don't have the skills to do any of that?! Don't be so daft!" You yelled at him. "If I wasn't ambitious, then (n/n) would still be an untrained niffler, living in the wild! That wasn't easy you know!" Draco looked like he wanted to jump out of the boat into the frigid water below.
"I didn't mean to upset you." Draco whispered loudly.
"Well you did!" You looked away from him. Draco staired at you.
"You sure loose your temper fast." He said with attitude.
"I have every right to loose my temper, you think that because you're a pureblood, that you're better than everyone else!" You turned back to yell at him. Draco opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again when you went on. "Well, you're not! Everyone here may not be a pureblood, but we are all here for the same reason! So back off!"
Draco lowered his voice to a whisper yell, "You are just a mudblood, you don't know anything about this world."
You wanted to push him into the water. "Yeah well, you're just a pureblood who knows nothing about the muggle world." You had lowered your voice too. Gaving him a dirty look, you looked away. You were ready to be away from him.
The boat came up on to the shore, and you climbed out of the boat. Without looking at the Malfoy boy, you stormed off up the stairs with the other first years.
How could he dare assume anything about you. What a jerk. He had only known you for a few months. And even if he was from a long line of wizards, that didn't give him the right to act like that.
"Wait up (y/n)!" Draco called out to you, trying to catch up.
"Leave me alone, Malfoy!" You called back to him, without turning around. You continued up the stairs, disappearing into the crowd. You were almost in tears, but didn't know why you cared so much. You were so livid at him for being so daft. One minute he seemed to be so sweet and kind, then the next he's a jerk again. What was his problem?
