A few weeks went by with Draco comming up to visit you every day. Your skin had returned to normal, and now you sat in the dorm room on your bed with Sam on hers.
"He was there every day." Sam told you. "He likes you." You already figured that out. You had known for a while. Last year on the train back to the school over Christmas told you, he wasn't vary good at hiding it. You told Sam how the two of you held hands when you were sick.
Sam gatherd all the assignments you missed out on. You had a lot of catching up to do. That saterday you worked on the pile. It was only the potion assignments you struggled with. Draco would be able to help. You sat at the table in the library were you had been all day working.
"You want any help?" Draco said sitting down. You smiled.
"You know I need it with potions." The two of you walked down to the dungeons. On the walk, Draco asked if you were staying for Christmas break.
"I have to." You said. "I have a lot of catching up to do."
"I'm staying too." He said softly.
"Why?" Draco wasn't the kind of student who liked Hogwarts; infact, he spent a lot of time bad mouthing the school.
"I figured you were gonna stay behind to catch up." You reached the potions classroom. "So I'm staying for you." The two of you walked into the class room. Snap was sitting at his desk.
"Can I help you?" He said in his normal cold voice.
"Professor," Draco spoke "(y/n) needed help with her missed assignments and I offered to help. I was hopeing we could work on them here." Snap waved a dismissive hand and truned his attention back the stack of papers on his desk.
Draco helped you a lot and somehow you managed to pick it up. Either you were paying closer attention to him then you did in class or Draco was a good tutor for potions. Once you were done, you hugged him and went to the Great Hall for dinner.
A week into December you were headed to the hall. You spotted a crowd by the announcement board. You pushed your way threw to see a sign for a duling club at 8 pm for that night. You decided to go but you didn't really want to participate.
That night, you, along with many other students from all the years and all ages, made their way down to the Great Hall. Most of the school was there. You stood back and watched. Lockhart and Snap were showing the proper way to dule. The two instructors bowed their head and stuck out their wand like fencing swords. On the count of three, they raised their wands and Snap yelled,
"Exspelliomas!" Lockheart flew back, his wand flying out of his hand. You read somewhere that you if a witch or wizard is disarmed, the wand may change its elegance. This didn't seem to be a problem for Lockheart though. He got up. Another student handed him back his wand. The two professors started separating the students into pairs. Kaithy was with a Ravenclaw while Sam and Sebastian were paired together. Snap paired Potter and Draco together. That wasn't smart. Didn't Snap know the feud between those two?
The students bowed and the count to three started. On two Draco struck. Potter regained is balance and sent a tickle charm back at him. Draco fell over laughing. You had never heard Draco laugh, and you wished you could hear him over all the noice. A light shot from Draco's wand. Potter was hit with some kind of dancing charm. His feet were moving like a grasshopper being chased. All the teams were attacking each other. Lockheart was shouting for them to all stop. The students ignored his pleas. Snap shouted something and all the spells reversed.
"Let's have a volunteer pair." Lockheart said. He wanted Longbottom and Finch-Fletchley, but Snap said it was a bad idea, saying they would be sending Finch-Fletchley to the hospital wing in a match box.
"How about Malfoy and Potter." Snap suggested. The two boys climbed onto the stange. Lockhart tryed to show Potter a movement with his wand then droped it.
"Woops" he said, picking it up. Snap whispered something to Draco.
"Could you show me that blocking thing again?" Potter asked Lockheart.
"Scared?" Draco drew the word out in a mocking type of voice.
The two boys bowed and raised their wands. Lockheart counted to three and Draco shouted,
"Sectumsempra!" A black snake shot from the tip of his wand.
"Don't move Potter, I'll get ride of it." Snap said, clearly enjoying the look on Potter's face.
"Allow me!" Lockheart said walking over to the serpent. He waved his wand at it. There was a loud bang. The snake flew into the air and plummeted back to earth. It looked up and faced Finch-Fletchley. It looked ready to strike. Potter spoke is a wired language. It sounded like he was whispering to the snake. It slumped to the ground.
"What do you think you're playing at?" Finch-Fletchley angrily yelled before storming out of the Hall. Snap eye balled Potter in shock while the other students mumbled amongst themselves. Snap made the snake vanish then Weasley coaxed Potter away, the others moving away as they walked passed.
The evening was over. The students were told to go back to their dorm rooms. All the Hufflepuffs were talking about what just happend.
"A porslemouth." They kept saying. What was that? You must have looked puzzled because Kathy explained Potter spoke to the snake in it's language.
"Most people can't speak that language." She told you. "It might just be Potter who's been opening the chamber! Salazar Slytherin could speak porslemouth." She went on. You stoped listening to her. All the students started thinking the same thing. But his friend Granger was a muggle-born. He wouldn't risk it.
A few days went by with people do all they could to avoid Potter. At least his friends didn't abandon him. You were making your way to the common room, when you caught Potter and his friends going into the girls bathroom on the first floor. You snuck in behind them. The three of them went into a single stall.
"It's almost ready." You head Granger say.
"What's almost ready?" You asked. The three jumped then stood still. They acted as if, if they stoped moving, you would just disappear.
"I know you three are in there." You said. The door unlocked and slowly opened. The three were standing around a caluderin.
"Its polojuice potion." Weasley said quietly.
"Don't tell please." Granger said pleading with you. You smiled and almost laughed.
"I won't tell, but what do you need it for?" You were curious. They told you how they thought Draco knew something about the chamber.
"I don't think it's him opening it. I could have saved you loads of time. He doesn't know much. I've already asked him." The three had looks of amazement mixed with shock. "But if you find out anything, you'll tell me won't you?" You asked. They all nodded.
"Oooooo" a sobbing voice came from the next stall over. You opend the door to see a ghost girl crying.
"Hi Merdal." You said sweetly. "What's the matter?" Merdal was the ghost that haunted the toilets in this bathroom. The other girls wouldn't come in because they didn't want to deal with Merdal. She wasn't a bad ghost, just miss understood.
When you first met, you had gone into her stall to cry when Draco had pushed you against the wall. Merdal was kind enough to listen to your sobs. Now the two of you were friends.
You heard Potter and his friends leave. Merdal told you how some of the girls were making fun of her, mocking her. That wasn't right.
"Just because your a ghost, doesn't mean you dont have feelings." You said as she whipped away her tears with her transparent sleave. Once she was calm, you said good by and head back out.
