The next day, after lunch, you walked down to care of magical creatures. Draco didn't show up for class. It didn't bother you though. Perhaps it was a good thing he didn't come. Hagrid was doing flobber worms now. You figured Draco would find another way to cause a new problem for Hagrid if he came. When class was done you had some free time. You decided to ask about Buckbeak. Hagrid told you that he was going to be put on trial because of the incident with Draco. 'I wonder if Draco knows that.' You thought.
That weekend was the first Quidditch match of the year. You made your way into the stands with Sam and Sebastian. You saw Draco with Crabbe and Goyle under a large umbrella. They were laughing at pointing at Potter. You shook your head. Why did you care? Soon, the two teams entered the fild and the game started. You watched the game for a bit, but couldn't make out what was going on. You were soaked to the bone and freezing cold.
"Sam, I'm gonna go back inside. It's just to cold and wet out here." You said, leaving the stands. You were almost inside when the air truned to that same icey chill that it was on the train. You truned back and saw a dementor hovering over the fild; over Potter. Then out of nowhere he plummeted to the ground. There was a large commotion as people ran to the fild to see if Potter was ok. You watched not knowing what to do. A sliver light flew up from the ground and the next thing you saw was Dumbledore fallowing a stretcher with Potter on it. The look on Dumbledore's face wasn't that of pitty for Potter but of anger. He didn't like dementors at the school. He seemed furious that they came onto the grounds.
Days later Potter was out of the hospital wing. Draco had finally taken off his bandages and was mocking Potter, falling off his broom. You were so sick of him acting this way all the time. You didn't understand why you care still.
Later that day, you found (n/n) laying on your bed. He didn't seem to feel good. At dinner, you found your way to the Slytherin table.
"Draco?" You said in a concerned voice from the other side of the table. He looked up to see you standing there.
"Let me guess, you want me to 'be nice' do you?" He said coldly. You gave him a look that would have froze him in his spot if you could do that.
"That's not why I'm over here. Though it should be, it's of no use. You'll never be nice to people." You said sternly. His smirk vanished. "Never mind." You shock your head and ran out of the hall, almost in tears.
Draco's pov
"What's her problem?" Perkinson asked. The others shrugged their shoulders. They went back to mocking Potter, falling off his broom again. Soon after, Sam walked over to the Slytherin table.
"What do you want, mudblood?" Draco snapped.
"You are the rudest, the most selfish person in the world!" Sam said to him. Draco smiled an evil smile.
"That sounds about right." He said agreeing with her. "I'm a pureblood and your nothing but a stupid mudblood."
"You know what, call me what ever you like. I don't care. I don't understand it, but (y/n) really likes you. She came over here becuase she's worried about her niffler, and thought that maybe you would stop caring about yourself for just a single minute to listen to what she had to say." Sam didn't back down. "I have no idea why she cares if you care, but she does!" Draco went to say something but couldn't get a word in. "Shes my friend; I'm on her side. YOU should be too!" Sam stormed off out of the hall too. Draco sat there dumbfounded. Did a mudblood just tell him off? How dare she.
"Who does she think she is?" Perkinson said with a, I'm better then you, attitude. Draco didn't answer but got up and walked out of the hall.
Your pov
You took (n/n) to Hagrid. Maybe he could help. He was, after all, the Care of Magical Creatures professor. You knocked on Hagrids door. He opened it with his dog, Fang, at his feet.
"Please help me!" You pleaded holding a motionless niffler in your arms.
"What's the matt'r with him?" Hagrid asked letting you come in.
"I don't know, I found him laying on my bed like this." Your tears fell on your niffler.
"Let me have a look." He said. Hagrid looked like a vet examining a cat.
"Looks like hes eaten' somethin'. It should pass in a few days. He'll be fine." Hagrid said. "But you should leave him here till then." You nodded and kissed (n/n).
"Thanks, Hagrid." You said holding back the tears. You hugged Hagrid and headed back out. Buckbeak was tied up on the side of Hagrid's hut. You walked over to him.
"Hi, Buckbeak." You said bowing. He bent his head down and you petted his beack. You were still crying because of (n/n). Buckbeak nugged you.
"I'm ok boy. I'm just worried about my niffler." You sat down next to the hipogriff. It was comforting to know that Hagrid was going to look after him and that Buckbeak cared. You were looking back at the hut when you felt a heavy weight on your lap. Buckbeak had layed his head on you. You smiled and started petting his head. The sky grew dark and you were falling asleep. You woke a few hours later to a cold Breeze. You sat up and looked around. You were sleeping in Buckbeaks arms. He was holding onto you like you where his cub. The school didn't even come looking for you. You layed back down because the next morning was saterday so you could sleep in a bit. You drifted back to sleep.
"(Y/n)? Get away from that monster." You heard Draco's voice. He was speaking like he was scared for you. You sat up.
"Don't insult him." You reminded him pointing at Draco's arm and layed back down.
