A few days passed and sure enough, Voldemort wanted to know what happend. The Death Eaters where all in the dinning hall talking about the death of Dumbledore. You waited outside the room as you weren't part of them. But you could still hear what was going on.
"So, Dumbledore is dead?" Hissed Voldemort.
"Yes." Draco said clearly.
"Good job, Draco." Voldemort praised him.
"He didn't kill him!" Said Grayback.
"Is this true?" Voldemort asked curiously. Draco didn't reply.
"He didn't! Snape killed him!" Grayback answered.
"I see." Voldemort hissed angrily. You could hear something slithering around in the room. "You didn't do what I asked of you then." He continued. You cracked the door open so you could see what was going on. "Nagini!" He hissed, "Attack!"
"Immobulus!" You yelled, your wand pointed at the snake the was about to attack Draco. The snake froze in the air and you entered the room. "You got what you wanted." You said loudly, looking right at the noseless man at the end of the table. "Dumbledore is dead. So what if Draco wasn't the one who actually did the job? It wouldn't have happend if he hadn't fixed that cabinet." You walked right up to Voldemort. "So LEAVE DRACO ALONE!" You screamed at him. "You got what you wanted." You spoke the last sentence with your normal voice.
"Don't speak to the Dark Lord like that." One of the other Death Eaters said, but you ignored him while you walked over to Draco.
"Come on, Draco." You said and grabbed his hand.
"You can't talk to him like that!" Said another Death Eater. You ignored this one too and you pulled Draco away from the table that they all sat around. A few Death Eaters then stood up.
"Leave her." Voldemort said and they sat back down. "She is right. Dumbledore is dead." You didn't even turn around to retaliate. You just walked out with Draco and shut the door behind you.
"Are you crazy?" Draco asked.
"You heard him. I'm right." You said and let go of Draco's hand. "I don't know why I get away with talking to him like that, but I do." Draco looked at you with a plane look. You walked into the next room and headed up stairs.
"Where are you going?" Asked Draco.
"Your dad's library." You replied as you climbed the steps. Draco fallowed after you. "I thought I would do some research while your dad is distracted." You reached the top and the stair case.
"What are you looking for?" Draco asked, forgetting that he was just pulled out of the Death Eater meeting.
"Well, last time I got away with talking to Him like that, he said that the reason had something to do with the curse on our families." You opend the door to the library. "I'm sure that your family history is going to be in here somewhere. Maybe we can find out when your ancestor was cursed and why. If we find that, we can find out more about the curse." You said, as you looked around the large room of books.
"Makes sence." Draco agreed, and pulled a large and heavy looking book from a bottom shelf in the back of the room. "This book shows the lineage of all the Malfoys and how they are related to other pure blood families." You help him get the book to the table closest to him. Draco opend the book to the 1st page. "See, there's my name under my mom and dad." He said pointing at his name. "And when I have a kid, their name will be here." He said pointing to the empty space under his name. "When the page is full, the book makes a new page. It up dates itself too. So, we know it's accurate. If you have Malfoy blood, you're in this book."
"We should look at it in your room." You said. You were now looking at the closed door. "You know how your father is with his library." Draco agreed and the took the book to his room using wingardium leviosa. Neither of you weren't 17 yet, but close enough. Besides, the Ministry had more important things to do than hunt down underage magic in a house full of witches and wizards.
"When did your father get out of Azkaban?" You asked as you walked.
"A few days ago, I guess." Draco replied. "He was here when Snape and I arrived. He hasn't said much to me."
"I see," you said and opend Draco's door. Draco moved the book so it hovered over his bed and let it down softly.
"Yeah. It's ok though, he didn't really spend much time with me before he was sent to Azkaban." Draco said, opening the book back up "so nothing has changed."
"How are we going to know who was cursed?" You asked, focusing back on the book.
"Oh, that's easy." Draco said a flipped back a few pages. "See, it says if they cursed and how they died." You looked down at the book and sure enough, there was the name 'Claude Malfoy' with the word 'CURSED' written in red under it. Then it said under that. 'Killed for loving a muggle.'
"Wow! Your ancestors really didn't like anyone who wasn't like them." You said.
"They still are." Draco said. "Well, my dad is like that." He looked up from the book. "Before me is him. I'm the last Malfoy in the line." He flipped a few of the pages back further and saw a small paragraph and read it aloud.
"Armand Malfoy, came to Britain as part of the invading Norman army in 1066. Armand was granted a piece of land in Wiltshire for his services to William the Conqueror who shortly was crowned king after he and army invaded. [Info from harrypotter.fandom.com]"
Draco look back at you. "That's cool." He said.
"Draco, he tricked the muggle into helping him." You said looking at him. "Why did he want to leave and where did he come form?" You asked.
"I don't know." Draco said, looking back down at the book. "I wasn't there." You laid down on your stumic and counted to look at the book with Draco. It wasnt long before you got board and laid your head down on your arms and closed your eyes.
