"What do you think he'll do with the quill?" Draco asked as the two of you walked back to the Great Hall together.
"Don't know, don't care." You said. "As long as you don't get the blame for taking Umbridge's quill, I couldn't care less what Peeves does with it." You walked through the doors and joined Sam, as Draco headed to the Slytherin table.
Later that day, you were sitting outside with Sam and Sebastian working together on the essay for History of Magic. You sat up because you could hear Draco.
"Yeah, someone put a niffler in her office the other day. She's livid about it." He said to his friends.
"I bet shes glad she got ride of that niffler of (l/n)'s" Perkinson said in her normal snobbish voice. Draco glared at her.
"(N/n) is home now. AND HE'S NOT A NORMAL NIFFLER!" Draco shouted at her. You smiled. You felt a little proud of Draco for defending (n/n).
"I'm just saying that, he is a niffler. And nifflers shouldn't be kept as pets." Perkinson said coldly. Crabbe and Goyle looked at each other before leaving. You didn't blame them, it looked like Draco and Perkinson were about to start fighting.
"(Y/n)?" Sam pulled you attention away from Draco. "What are you looking at?" She asked, then saw Draco too. "What's going on over there?"
"Couldn't you hear them?" You looked at her like she was crazy. Sebastian looked up.
"Hear who?" He asked before trunning around. "Oh, ignore them." He looked back at his paper, taking his own advice.
"I wasn't paying attention to the rest of the world." Sam admitted. You smiled at her and told her what you had over heard.
"He stood up for (n/n)?" Sam said shocked.
"Well yeah. (N/n) is his niffler too. Well, at least that's what (n/n) thinks." You said and got up. "I'm gonna stop them before a fight brakes out." Sam nodded and you walked over to Draco and Perkinson.
"Draco," you hugged him from behind. "Will you help me?"
"(Y/n)," Draco truned around. "What's up?" You took his hand and pulled him away from Perkinson.
"Are you ok?" He asked after a few minutes. He had sat down next to Sebastian. You smiled at him.
"Of course I am. I just didn't want a fight to start. You are a school prefect, and a member of Inquisitorial Squad. Even if I dont like it, you represent the rules. I'm sure fighting would brake ar least one school rule." You said, and looked back at your essay.
"Oh, sooooo..." he dragged on.
"Look, Malfoy. Just sit there and be quiet. Sam and I don't like you. Your only here because (y/n) cares for you, though I dont understand why." Sebastian said angrily.
"I don't want to be near you either." Draco retorted. You could see that Draco was is a bad mood, and decided that keeping him near your friends was only going to lead to trouble.
"I'll see you later," you said to Sam and Sebastian. You stood and took Draco's hand making him stand as well. You picked up you bag and walked away with Draco.
"Is everything alright with you." You asked Draco as you entered the library. He glared at you. "It's just that you seem on edge."
"I'm fine!" Draco spat. You gave him a look that told him you didn't believe him.
"What's wrong, Draco?" You asked but he didn't answer. Instead he sat down and opened a random book that wat
S sitting on the table. You could tell something was bothering him. You sat down beside him.
"Don't." Draco whispered.
"I won't make you tell me What's wrong. You'll tell me when you're ready." You layed your head on his shoulder.
Draco's pov
'Perkinson had irritated me earlier. What gives her the right to talk about (n/n) like she knows him? She knows that he's more like a dog than a niffler. Then, (y/n)'s friends don't even want me around. And why? Because my Father's a Death Eater? That's not my fault.' He let his thoughts run wild.
"Zzzzzz" You had fallen asleep. Draco smiled and picked you up.
Your pov
You felt something worm on top of you and you could hear the cracking of a fire. You opened your eyes and sat up.
"Good morning." You heard Draco say. You looked around noticing you were in the star room. Draco was sitting at the small table, doing his school work.
"When did I get here?" You asked sleepily.
"You fell asleep in the library about an hour ago. So, I brought you here."
"Oh," you said and joined him at the table.
"I'm sorry I snapped at your friends." Draco said, as you sat down. He confessed what was on his mind, and you listened carefully. "So what did I do to upset Sam and Sebastian?"
"I agree with you. They are being a little over the top, aren't they?" You both fell silent for a little bit.
"I heard what you said to Perkinson, about (n/n), I'm proud of you for standing up for him." You said, breaking the silence.
"Well, I had to. He's my baby too, right?" Draco said, still looking at his paper.
"Yes, he is." You said and moved to sit next to Draco. "You're his human dad."
"Well then," Draco sat up and smiled at you. "You would be his human mom, making us co-parents of the little guy." You felt your face heat up. "Did I make you blush?"
"No!" You said and looked away.
"I did, didn't I? I haven't been able to do that in a while?." Draco teased you. You felt his arms wrap around you from behind. "I love you." He whispered softly in your ear. You truned around. You were about to tell him you loved him too but was unable to due to him planting his lips on yours. It was a soft but deep kiss. You closed your eyes and kissed him back. You didn't want this moment to ever end.
