The drive back home was long, and the whole ride home was filled with your parents telling you, in a few days, you would be going to America to visit your moms sister. You weren't actually listening to them. Watching the other cars on the road, you thought about what Draco was gonna send his owl, Arrow, over for.
That night, you sat at you window waiting for Arrow. It was around midnight when you eventually spotted Draco's eagle owl.
"Hi Arrow," you said, as the bird flew in threw you window. You took the paper from Arrow's beak.
'I'm sorry we weren't able to be friends over the school year. We didn't really get the chance to talk often enough; well, when we weren't mad at the other for something. I hope this summer will be different then all the other summers. I hope that this summer we can become friends.'
What was he talking about? You were already friends. You kept reading.
'I over heard my father and mother talking. They thought I was asleep. They were talk about the (l/n) family, something about knowing You-Know-Who. I don't think you would know anything, but thought you would like to know.'
He was right. You did find that interesting. You looked around your room to see Arrow had found his way to (n/n), the two of them were getting along great. They had become friends on the Christmas break, and that made you happy. There was no reason for (n/n) to fear Arrow. He was a good bird. You looked back the paper.
'Anyways, my father has me doing a lot this summer for him. He wants me to help him with some project that I can't tell anyone about. So, if you promise not to tell anyone, I'll tell you. Well, I better get to bed before my father finds me wrighting to you. Can you keep Arrow there tonight? I don't want him to get caught on the flight home.'
"Ok, I guess your staying the night Arrow." You said looking at the large bird sleeping in (n/n's) bed. "I guess you found your bed" You said to Arrow and smiled at your niffler. "Come on (n/n), you can sleep with me." You closed the window, truned off your light and picking (n/n) up, you growled into bed.
The next morning, you woke to find (n/n) and Arrow sleeping together in the pet bed.
"I need to get a perch for you Arrow." You said climbing out of your bed. The sun was barley peeking over the horizon. Before you got dressed, you sat down to write Draco back.
'We are friends, or so I thought we were. Sometimes friends fight, that just what they do. I know we didn't act like friends. I did think you hated me, and you thought I hated you. But that simply wasn't the truth. I just couldn't stand you picking on others. But I never once hated you.
You were right to tell me what your parents were saying. It did interest me. If I hear or find anything, I'll let you know, as I hope you would do the same.
I don't want to know what your father has you working on. If it's a secret, then don't tell people. It could get you into a lot of trouble. Don't get me wrong, I want to know. But I care to much about your safety to risk it.
Also, I'm going to America soon. We will be staying with my aunt. Could you do me a favor? We can't bring (n/n) on the plane. I don't know how I would explain him to the muggles. We will only be gone for a week. Will you come over here daily and feed him for me? I would be very grateful. You can bring Arrow over to visit (n/n) too. They have become close friends.'
You folded the note and gave it Arrow, who had woken up and was now sitting on the desk next to you. Arrow hooted and flew off.
You touched the necklace around your neck. You were still wearing the one Draco gave you. Why it ment so much you, you weren't sure. You got dressed and went down to breakfast.
"Good morning" you said cheerfully, as you sat down at the table.
"Good morning." Your mom replied. "You're happy this morning."
"Yeah? Well, summer is here." You smiled. No, you were happy because Draco wanted to tell you a secret, that could get him into loads of trouble. That's why you told he not to tell. That's why you were so giddy.
Later that day, you and (n/n) were out in the garden. (N/n) was running around playing with some shiny metallic balls. Your parents must have gotton them for him. You were sitting on the ground, leaning against a tree reading. You had missed the garden. It was so peacefully beautiful.
Out of no where came (n/n). He was acting scard.
"What's the matter, (n/n)?" You said, putting your book down.
"Hey," Draco was at the entrance of the garden.
"That's just Draco." You said, looking at the frightened niffler. (N/n) took off, when Draco walked closer. "(N/n)!" You called to the poor thing. Looking back to face your friend. You stood up.
"What's up?" You asked picking up your book and walking threw the kitchen door. Draco fallowed you.
"My parents left for the day. I thought I would come and visit with you." Draco rambled while following you into the dining room then to the living room.
"Oh, did you get my message?" You asked walking up stairs.
"Yeah, that's another reason I came over. I wanted to let you know I could do that for you." Draco was still following you.
"Do what?" Came your moms voice from around the corner. You poked your head around into her room. And told her you had asked if Draco would take care of (n/n) while you were away.
"That's wonderful, that means we don't have to find a way to hide him." She sounded enthusiastic. Draco fallowed you into your room, where you put your book on its shelf.
You showed Draco were to find what he needed for (n/n), then you showed him what a VCR was and what a TV was.
"Muggles watch this thing?" He seemed creeped out by it at first. After you had turned it on and was watching TV, he found it fascinating. You both sat on your bed with your backs against the wall watching the screen. You showed Draco how to use the controller.
"If you get bored when your here, feel free to watch some TV or watch a movie." You told him.
Night came faster then you would have liked. You and Draco had spent the entire day together without any fighting or disagreements.
"You better get back home before your parents come home and find you gone." You said to a sleepy Draco. He was falling asleep next to you. He agreed, said night, and ran home.
