You were still in the star room when the next morning arrived. You had barley woke when you heard the door open.

"Most of the school is talking about how Weasley was poisoned." Draco said as he shut the door behind him.

"Yeah, I already know." You said, sitting up. "His sister told me what happened." You yawned. Draco sat beside you.

"Yeah well, I wish I didn't have to listen to all the talk." Draco said annoyed.

"Draco," you looked at him. "You're talking about it."

"They're all talking like some died." Draco replied.

"Someone almost did." You pointed out.

"But he DIDN'T" Draco sounded frustrated.

"Show some sympathy." You looked at him like he had a heart made of ice. "Someone was poisoned! It doesn't matter who was poisoned." Draco looked at you like you had lost your mind. "For crying out loud Draco! I know you don't like the Weasley family but have a heart! If that was me laying in that hospital bed, you would feel differently. He almost died!" You stared at him waiting for a response. When he didn't say a word, you stood up. "How can you be SO cold? Sometimes I wonder who you are?" You said before storming out of the room.

The school was indeed talking about Ron Weasley being poisoned. You went outside and sat down under a tree in the court yard.

"You ok?" You looked up to see Sam. You nodded. "You don't look ok." She said and joined you under the tree.

"It's nothing." You said shaking your head. "I just told Draco he was cold."

"What happend?" Sam asked. You told her what had just taken place in the star room and Sam agreed with you before changing the subject to your charms homework.

As you and Sam sat outside discussing the assignment, you heard a familiar voice, one you haven't had to deal with in a while.

"Look what we have here." Perkinson said. You didn't bother to acknowledge her and kept talking. "A Mud-blood and her blood treader friend." Sam looked over at Perkinson.

"Just ignore her, Sam. She's just trying to anger you." You told your friend.

"She is so rude." Sam pointed out. You nodded and went on about charms class.

"They must be as stupid as they look." Perkinson's friend said. "The stupid Hufflepuff brats."

"Oh let me show them." Sam said, happily as she placed her hand on her school robe pocket, where she kept her wand. "Let me show them how 'stupid' we are." She air quoted the word stupid with her free hand.

"You make the first move and the teachers think you started it." You reminded her.

"Hey, look at the puppy acting like a big dog." Perkinson said in a baby voice.

"At least she's not a coward." You said just loud enough for the two girls to hear you, while not looking at them. "And I am not in the mood to deal with a toad like you."

"What did you just call me?" Perkinson said. You turned around.

"A...Toooaaad." You spoke slowly as if she didn't know what a toad was. "You know. It kind of looks like a frog, except it's bigger, uglier and has worts."

"How dear you." She spat.

"Yes, how dear I!" You spat back, as you stood up. "How horrible of me to interpret your conversation with your friend to throw some insults around. How dear me try to get you to attack me so I can run off to Professor Snape crying that you attacked me for no reason. What was I thinking?" You said sarcastically. You looked at Sam then back at Perkinson. "OH WAIT! WAIT! That was you!" You pointed at the girls. "Now go away," you shood them away with your hand, "before I trun into what you really are." You said and sat back down. Perkinson and her friend stood there.

"I think you broke them" Sam said looking at them.

"Yeah, I don't care." You replied.

"What does my Dracky Poo see in you?" Perkinson asked, revolted.

"What you can't." You heard Draco's voice. "And I have told you a million time to STOP CALLING ME YOUR DRACKY POO!!!" He said threw gritted teeth. "I suggest you go, Pansie, before Sam looses her temper and you learn just how strong she is, or worse, (y/n) looses her temper and you're foced to hop around the school, lost forever." You turned to watch the commotion.

"But Dracky..." she wined.

"Well, if you really want to be a toad..." He said before she sighed and pulled her friend away.

"(Y/n), can we talk?" Draco asked once Perkinson was gone.

"Did your ice heart melt?" You asked him.

"Look, I don't like Weasley...." Draco started.

"NO! You look!" You stood up. "You don't even KNOW him. You don't like him, or any of the Weasleys, because your father doesn't like them." Draco stepped back as you moved closer. "So until the ice in your chest melts, you get of your high horse, and meet me back down here on earth, I don't want to speak to you." You said and stormed passed him, back into the school.

Draco's pov

"Wow!" Sam said, taken a back. "I knew she was upset with you but I didn't realize she was that angry."

"Yeah." Draco said watching you enter the school. "(Y/n) is really mad, isn't she?"

"There's more to the story, isn't there?" Sam asked. She was right but there was no way that Draco was going let her in on secrets in his head. "Hey, Malfoy!" Sam said, waving a hand in front of his face.

"Something must be bothering her." Draco answered.

"Probably that her friend almost lost her bother, and (y/n) understands what that feels like." Sam said. Draco looked at her. "And you acted like it was nothing."

"Oh," he said, realizing his mistake. Something had clicked in Draco's head. "She's not mad that I don't like Weasley, but that I ignored the pain he's going through." Draco whispered to himself, while he focused on the ground. "I'm an idiot."

"Yes, you are. Glad you admitted it." Sam said and walked off.
