Days had gone by. You were sitting in the side yard of the Malfoy manner with (n/n) reading. Draco was off doing his summer homework in his room. You had already finished yours.
"What are you doing here?" You heard Pansy Parkinson's voice come from the other side of the table you were sitting at. You look up at her. (N/n) jumped onto the table and started acting like a protective cat.
"It's ok (n/n), she's harmless." You picked the niffler up and placed him on the grass. He didn't like the idea of being removed from the situation. He stuck his toung out and scampered away into the house.
"I thought Draco told you, I live next door." You reminded her. She sat down.
"I don't like you." She said with a scowl.
"I didn't think you did." You replied coldly, picking your book back up. It was yanked out of your hands.
"You must not have learned your lesson." She got close to whisper.
"Oh you mean the Dragon's breath? Yeah, Draco told me about your little friend and her trick." You said sarcastically, standing to walk away.
"Stay away from Draco!" She said in a harsh threatening tone.
"Or what?" You truned back to face her. "You see, we all know you like him. We all know you would do anything to get his attention." You truned again and walked into the mansion. She fallowed you inside.
"You're nothing to him. You're just a stupid Hufflepuff, who's weak." She said as she walked past you. You rolled your eyes. Draco was walking down the stares.
"When did she get here?" Draco asked when he got to the bottom floor.
"A few minutes ago. She's upset that I'm here." You told him.
"Then she's not gonna like it when she finds out your staying here." He said almost laughing.
"She's not going to like it when she finds out I'm your girlfriend." You said back smiling.
The Perkinson family, along with the Grabbe and Goyle families, had come over for the dinner party that the Malfoys did evey summer. After dinner, Draco, his three fellow Slytherins and you went to the side yard. Draco was talking with Grabbe and Goyle a few yards away from the table. Draco was facing you, while you sat at the table with (n/n) again. Draco must have said something to his friends because the two dim wits truned to look at you playing with your niffler and a shiny string like he was a cat.
"You know, that's a niffler, NOT a cat." Perkinson tryed to point out. You were ignoring her rantings though.
"I don't know why your still here. You live next door, right? So, go home!" She said rudely. The string stopped moving and (n/n) grabbed it. You looked at her and slowly smiled.
"Because I don't want to." You spoke slowly. The three boys joined you girls at the table. Draco sat right next to you. You grabbed his hand and watched Perkinsons face. It was truning red with anger. (N/n) was rolling around the table with the string.
"He's happy." Draco said, nodding his head towards the niffler. You agreed, and layed your head on Draco's shoulder.
"I'm gonna go inside for a bit, I'll see you later." You said standing up. You kissed Draco's cheek and walked off.
Draco's pov
"Ok." Draco replied smiling sweetly back at you.
"What's the matter with you?" Grabbe asked Perkinson.
"Why is she still here?" She replied coldly. "She needs to go home."
"She's staying here for the summer." Draco said leaning back in his chair. "And leave her alone, she's not hurting anyone by being here." (N/n) stopped rolling around, realizing you were gone. He looked at Draco and climbed onto his shoulder.
"Is that the same niffler we saw before?" Goyle asked. Draco nodded.
"This is (n/n). He's (y/n) pet, and she trained him well, from a baby. Watch this." Draco put the niffler on the grass.
"Sit," Draco said and the niffler sat. "Dance," the niffler hoped around on his back legs. Draco handed (n/n) a small and shiny coin. "Do not pocket that, just hold it for a second." The niffler held the coin between his little paws. Draco truned back to his friends. He told Grabbe to put his hand down. He did. (N/n) moved away from Grabbe and shock his head.
"Go ahead, give him the coin." Draco told (n/n), who did what he was told. Draco looked at Perkinson and continued to talk to the niffler on the ground. "Come." (N/n) jumped back to Draco's shoulder.
"You see, (y/n) is not a stupid weak Hufflepuff. She's smart, and a lot stronger then you think." Draco taped the table and (n/n) jumped down. "This niffler is smarter than you. Don't let me hear you talk to (y/n) like you did before dinner again." Draco stood up and walked away with Grabbe, Goyle and (n/n) fallowing him inside, and left her sitting there flabbergasted.
Your pov
Later that night, you all sat in the drawing room. The parents were in another room. Perkinson hadn't said a single word to you about anything.
"What did Draco say to her?" You asked Goyle, while you watched the other three by the fire. Goyle told you what was said after you left the table in the yard. You smiled and walked over to Draco, and wrapped your arm around his, holding his hand at the same time. Draco looked at you.
"Its getting late." You said sleepily. "I'm going to go to bed."
"Ok, good night sweet heart." Draco said kissing your forehead. You looked at him with a smile.
"Good night." And with that, you walked off to your room.
Draco's pov
"Sweet heart?" Perkinson said confused.
"Yeah, that's what I said." Draco replied, as he sat down.
"Are you...?" She started. Draco nodded.
"Yup, she's my girlfriend. So play nicely." Draco said in his smug tone.
"But she...but I..." Perkinson studdered.
"I know you like me." Draco said. "But, I like her. She's not like you. She thinks for herself and talks back when she doesn't agree with me. You agree with everything I say."
"I don't agree with this." She said annoyed.
"Are you jealous?" Draco asked her sarcastically. "Well to bad." Draco stood and walked out of the room leaving the three alone.
Your pov
You layed in bed thinking how Draco told Perkinson off. (N/n) was sleeping at your feet. You heard Draco's door open then close. He was going to bed too. You smiled to yourself. 'I want him to kiss me sometimes.' You thought falling into your dreams.
