The Great Hall looked different then it normally did. The four long house tables had vanished and hundreds of smaller tables filled the floor. You found your seat, which was in front of the staff table next to the wall that the Slytherin table was normally located. Draco was on the other end of the hall in the back row. Sam was next to the doors in the middle of the hall in the same row as Draco and Sebastian was smack dab in the middle. You took your seat and noticed a peace of parchment on the table.
"You may start." Professor McGonagall said, once all the studentshad taken there seats. She was standing only a few feet away from where you sat. The sound of parchment flipping over filled the hall. You flipped over your paper and read.
1) a. Give the incanation and b. Described the wand movements required to make objects fly.
You smiled. That was an easy one. You dipped your quill into the ink and wrote, Wingardium Leviosa. Two hours later, you filed out of the Great Hall with the rest of the 5th years for lunch. When you returned the hall looked normal. You sat beside Sam, who was blabbering about the test. After you were done eating Sebastian joined you and Sam. He was talking about the same thing. The two of them were saying how hard the test was. You didn't think it was so hard. You looked over at the Slytherin table to see Draco rolling his eyes at Crabbe and Goyle. The bell rang and the hall emptied. You were given a few minutes before reentering and so you took the time to talk to Draco.
"What was up with the eye rolls you gave Crabbe and Goyle?" You asked, slipping your hand into Draco's. He jumped a little, then smiled at you.
"They're idiot's. That's all." He said as the doors opened back up. This time, all the tables were gone. You had to wait in the corridor while students where called alphabetically.
Note: depending on what your last name is, you may or may not be in the exam with Draco, potter, granger, Weasley, or any of the other characters.
When your name was called, you walked up and Professor Flitwick, who was standing at the door, directed you to an instructor. You nervously walked over amd was told to make a wine glass do some cartwheels in the air. You did just fine. It wasn't long before you left the hall convinced that you passed.
After dinner, Draco caught up with you. You had snuck off from the others to find a quite place to study for tomorrows transfiguration exam. You thought for sure no one whould find you hidding in the bleachers of the Qudditage field.
"Hey (y/n)." Draco said, sitting down beside you. "I don't think I passed the second half." You looked at him with a look as bewilderment. "I was doing the part where I had to make my wineglass levitate and do some spins in the air, I was almost done with my test, and Potter distracted me. The glass hit the foor and shattered." Draco said mimicking the words he spoke.
"How did he distracted you?" You asked, confused how Potter could have possibly done that on purpose.
"He... well, it was more that he was just there." Draco said.
"You'll be fine." You said and looked back your book.
"But my glass plummeted to the floor!" Draco said dramatically.
"So you got a little distracted. You did fine on the rest, right." You said still looking at your book. "You're fine, now don't worrie about that test and study for tomorrows."
"Yeah, ok." Draco said defeaded.
The next morning you took your transfiguration exam. Wednesday was Hurbology and Thursday was Defence Against the Dark Arts. You did great in that class, thanks only to the D.A. meetings. Draco, however, said that evening he didn't do too well on that exam.
"But, of course, I won't need to know how to defend against that sort of stuff." You heard him telling Crabbe and Goyle. You pulled him away from them.
"Please don't tell me you want to be a dark wizard." You said.
"Well, my whole family, and yours for that matter, are." Draco said defensively. You rolled your eyes and walked away from him, upset that he would actually say something like that.
The next day, Friday, you didn't have exams so that you could study for the next set of tests. You sat outside by the lake, reading the potions book. That was the subject you figured you would have a problem with and the exam for that one was on monday.
"So," Draco said, sitting next to you. You ignored him. "Umbridge said another niffler got into her office."
"That's nice." You said coldly. "Serves her right for sending (n/n) away."
"Are you still mad at me?" Draco asked cautiously.
"I'm not mad." You said, never taking your eyes from your book. "Just disappointed."
"Oh." Draco said and layed back on the grass. You read on, trying to ignore him.
"I thought you wanted me to help you study for potions." Draco said sitting up after a few minutes.
"I don't want a dark wizard helping me do anything." You replied.
"Well, I'm not one." He said back. You didn't respond. "Oh come on, (y/n). I'm not gonna be a dark wizard. Please don't ignore me."
"I'm not ignoring you. I just don't want to talk to you." You stood up and walked away.
"See, I knew you were mad at me." Draco said, as he fallowed you.
"Fine, I'm mad then. Just let me be for a bit." You said. Draco stoped and let you walk way from him.
Saterday came along fast. You found yourself, once again, sitting by the lake. You half expected Draco to find you again, but it wasn't him who found you.
"What did you do to Drakey?!" Parkinson's voice filled your ears. She was clearly angry.
"Mind your own business." You said calmly, as you continued to read.
"I would, but I can't get him to move from the couch in the common room!" She yelled. "And I want to sit there, to study!"
