An hour after Draco had been rushed to the hospital wing, the whole school knew what had happened. Myrtle had told anyone who would listen to what she witnessed. Snape told the staff.
Draco told you the next morning that Perkinson, rudely interrupted his sleep to find out if the story was true. He told her it was just as Madame Pomfrey shood her away saying "Mr. Malfoy needs his rest."
Gryffindors and Slytherins alike were against Potter but for vary different reasons. Gryffindor was upset because Potter was the captain of their Quidditch team and was banned from the last match, while Slytherin was angry at him for the same reason you were.
The following Saturday was the match, Gryffindor against Ravenclaw. Draco was out of the hospital wing but instead of going to the match, you and Draco went to work on the cabinet while the school was busy.
"Um," you said noticing something different about the cabinet. "Draco passed the pile of books to see what you saw. On top of the cabinet was an ugly old warlock bust wearing an old dusty wig with the tarnished tiara that you saw a while ago.
"Someone was in here." Draco stated the obvious. You opened the cabinet to see the bird cadge and the skeleton of a five legged creatcher inside it. Draco had been trying to make it disappear the whole year.
"What is this?" Draco asked pulling out a book. "Advanced potion making." He read the cover and opend the book. "This book is the Property of the Half-blood Prince."
"Half-blood prince?" You asked, confused. Draco flipped through the book.
"This has all kinds of tips and tricks in it." Draco said, fascinated with the book. "I wonder who put it in here?"
"I don't know. Let me see it." You said and took the book as Draco handed it over. Draco turned to the cabinet and got to work. You sat down and started reading the book in your hands.
"Hey!" You said cheerfully. After a while "I bet this book was Potter's!" You said showing Draco a word scribbled down on a folded page.
"Sectumsempra." Draco read.
"Wasn't that the spell he used on you?" You asked. Draco nodded.
"Well, he's not getting this back." Draco said taking the book. "Ha, didn't know he went by Half-Blood Prince." Draco laughed.
"I don't think he does." You said, thinking back. More than once you had over heard Potter and his friends arguing over who 'The Prince' was. You told Draco this and Draco laughed. "What's so funny?" You asked puzzled.
"Potter isn't a genius in potions! I should have known this wasn't his book!" Draco said, still laughing. Calming down, he went on. "Remember the first day of class? He got this book from the classroom shelf."
"I'll make a bet Potter hid it here after he did what he did to you." You said looking up at the book. You were still sitting on the floor.
"Slughorn thinks he so great at potions too." Draco mumbled to himself.
"I wonder if it belongs to Snape then." You said. "It would explain why he didn't expell Potter for what he did. He doesn't want the other teachers or Dumbledore to find out about that spell." You pointed at the word again. "I wonder if the book has a potion that could help us?" Draco handed you back the book. You took the book and started reading.
After a while of reading the notes in the book, that were all over and on every page, you looked up. Draco looked tired.
"Nothing helpful here." You said, standing up. "And you should take a nap." Draco agreed and the two of you headed out. Draco went to his dorm room and you joined the other Hufflepuffs who were walking to the Great Hall.
"I told you that Gryffindor was would win." A seventh year girl said to her friend as they passed you.
"Nice of you to show up." Sam said from behind you. "Bet you were off with Malfoy again."
"I was." You said calmly.
"I'm telling you, he is bad news. There is something wrong with him." Sam said with attitude.
"Think what you like." You said annoyed at her and walked away from her.
A few weeks passed. The whole school was now talking about how Potter was now dating Ginny Weasley. You didn't actually care. You were still angry at Potter for almost killing Draco.
You and Draco were spending more and more time in the Room of Requirement because time was running out. You had to get the cabinet fixed soon. If you couldn't fix it then the Death Eaters couldn't break into the school. And with them not there Draco wouldn't be able to corner Dumbledore at murder him. And as you didn't want any of this to happen, it had to. Draco would be killed if he didn't do it. Not just him though, but his mom and his dad would be killed by Voldemort and the other Death Eaters.
"Hey!" You said suddenly making Draco jump, nearly knocking over a stack of books by the cabinet. "Why did I think of it earlier?" Draco looked at you bewildered. You ignored him and took off. You stopped in front of the Mirror of Erised. All you wanted at that moment was to know how to fix the cabinet. It showed you exactly what you wanted it to. With the knowledge the mirror had just give you, you walked back to Draco. You pulled out your wand and pointed it at the cabinet.
"PORTUS!" You said with confidence. The cabinet shook then stood still again.
"That's the spell for a port key." Draco pointed out.
"And what do you think a port key is?" You asked, smiling. "It's just a teleportation item. It was so simple." Draco opend the door to thw cabinet. The cadge he had in it was gone.
"It worked?" Draco asked, amazed. "It worked!" He said again but this time excited. "It actually worked!" He started whooping for joy.
"Who's there?" The voice of Professor Trelawney rang through the room. Draco panicked and before you could stop him, he had used a spell to through her from the room.
