"(Y/n)," Draco spoke softly. "I think I found something."
"What did you find?" You asked, yawning while sitting up.
"Look," he pointed at the book. "back in the year 995, Salazar Slytherin cursed Francois Malfoy."
"Does it say why?" You asked and pulled the large book towards you.
"No but it does say how to brake the curse." Draco said pointing. "Only when the two lines are true will the cuse be broken." Draco read out loud.
"What dose that mean?" You asked, more to yourself then to Draco. He shrugged his shoulders.
"But, we have a name and a date of the possible curse." Draco said. "I wonder why Salazar Slytherin cursed him though." You and Draco both looked at each other wanting to know the answer. Just then, the door to Draco's room slowly opend. You looked at the door and saw Lucius Malfoy standing there.
"What are you two doing?" He asked unusually calm. His eyes fell on the book on the bed.
"Uh," Draco said and froze.
"A little family history." You said cheerfully. "I wanted to know more about Dracos ancestors."
"You went into my library, didn't you?" He asked more harshly.
"I did." You said confidently. "It's just a room full of books."
"That room isn't JUST a room of books." Lucius said.
"I know," you said calmly. "It's a room full of historic books and documents. That's where you keep all the history of the Malfoy family." Draco looked at you but you kept your eyes on his father. "I understand why you don't like people in there. You're afraid the books, the documents, the history of the house and your blood line would get stolen, lost or damaged." To your surprise, Lucius nodded.
"Then you understand why I want that book back in the library." He said, shockingly calm.
"No problem. You said before closing the book. You pulled out your wand and said "Wingardium Leviosa!" The book slowly rose into the air.
"Is that how you got the book here?" Lucius asked. You and Draco answered "yes" in unison. After the book was safely returned to the library and back on its shelf, you truned to Lucius.
"How well do you know your ancestors?" You asked. Lucius looked at you confused. "I was just curious if you could give me any information about Francois Malfoy."
"I don't know much. Why?" He answered.
"He was cursed by Salazar Slytherin in 995." Draco finally spoke. "We were just wondering why."
"Look over there." Lucius pointed at shelf on the other side of the library. "You might find a journal. Some of our ancestors kept them and that's where they live now." You looked at Draco. "But if you MUST lean more, keep the books here and DON'T reck anything." He said before leaving.
"I didn't expect that reaction at all." Draco said walking over to the journals.
"Me neither." You said, releaved that you weren't forced to stop looking.
Weeks passed by slowly. You and Draco had spend all of the summer reading through the journals of his ancestors. You hadn't found anything to help with your search of why Salazar Slytherin cursed Draco's ancestor but you did find out why Armand Malfoy fled his home country of France.
According to his journal, he joined up with the muggle William the Conqueror because William had promised that if Armand help him win the battle, William would be crowned king. If that happened, then Armand would be rewarded with a large piece of land to build his new home. Armand joined the army for his family. Draco then told you that the house was built by Armand.
"So this land wad probably the land he was promised." You said. Draco nodded in agreement.
"Are you guys ready to go!" Narcissa Malfoy yelled up the stairs. The summer was now over and you had to go back to Hogwarts. You and Draco put the journals you each where reading back on the shelf and headed down the stairs.
"Well, maybe we can find more out at school." Draco said on the train. You looked at him, confused. "The library at Hogwarts has information on the four founders of the school. Perhaps there's something that can help." You fallowed him into an empty carpartment.
Neither of you had heard from your friends all summer. You didn't think any of them would want to sit with you. You sat across from Draco and was talking about Salazar Slytherin when the door opened. To your complete shock it was Sam standing in the door way.
"Hey," she said and shut the door behind her. "I'm hidding." She said and sat beside you. "Sabastien is driving me nuts. We've spent all summer together and I need a brake."
"Oh..." you replied and looked at Draco.
"How was your summer?" She asked you.
"Um...?" You looked at her. You didn't understand her at all. "It was good." You answered her confused. "I thought you hates Draco." You looked back at Draco. "And didn't want anything to do with me if I was going to be with him."
"Oh... that." She said. "I'm over it." She said like it hadn't been such a big deal for so long. You and Draco both looked at her with suspicion.
"Are you really sam?" You asked. She nodded. "It's just that your not acting like sam."
"Well, it's me." She said defensively. "Who else would I be?"
"Ok..." Draco spoke for the 1st time since she entered the room. "Then answer a question only Sam would know."
"Like what?" She asked, annoyed.
"How come you didn't respond to my letters?" You asked.
"You didn't send any." She said confused. "You called me on the crystal ball thing Draco enchanted for you and him to communicate with. I didn't answer cuz I wasn't home. I didn't find out you had tried to call me until my mom said something a few days ago."
"It's her." You said, looking at Draco. "The only person who knew about those, other then Kathey, was Sam."
"Then why are you acting like you've been ok with me forever. We both know you don't like me." Draco said.
"And I still don't." Sam told the truth. "You are a bully!" She said clearly.
"I know." Draco said softly and looked out the window. "I'm not that good of person. I know I haven't been nice to you or many people at all." Draco looked back at Sam. "And I am sorry for treating you the way I did." He's eyes feel on you. "But if it wasn't for (y/n), I wouldn't be who I am today." Draco looked back at Sam. "I treated you they way I did because that's how my father treated people. (Y/n) has spend years showing me, teaching me, that I get further with kindness." Sam smiled. "I am sorry I've been cold to you and called you the names I did."
"It's in the passed." Sam said. "This is our last year at Hogwarts. Let's start it with being friends." Draco smiled back.
