You slept hard and was woken by Madame Pomfrey the next morning as she was releasing you from her care. Potter and Weasley were still snoring away as you left the infirmary. The sun was shinning bright in the morning sky.
"There you are." Draco said as you walked into the Great Hall for breakfast. "I was wondering where you were."
"Didn't Sam tell you?" You asked. Draco shook his head, looking puzzled.
"She told me she didn't know." Draco answered.
"What?!" You looked over at the Hufflepuff table. "I was in the hospital wing." You looked back at Draco. "She helped there Friday night."
"What happend?" Draco looked worried.
"Nothing, I just got a little sick." You smiled at him. "Nothing to worrie about." You looked back at Sam. She was now talking to Sabastien, who had sat across from her. "I'll be right back Draco." You said and walked over to your friends. You thought it was strange that no one came for a visit while you were laying the hospital wing.
"Hey Sabastien," you said cheerfully and sat down beside him. "What's up?"
"Oh hey!" He replied with the same cheerfulness. You looked at Sam.
"How was the match yesterday?" You asked as you looked back at Sabastien.
"What?" Sabastien asked confused. "Weren't you there?" You shook your head.
"I was sick and was spending sometime in the hospital wing." You answered and looked at Sam. "Didn't Sam tell you?" You asked, wondering if it was just Draco she didn't tell.
"No!" Sabastien said and focused his attention on his girlfriend. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I... ah...." Sam stumbled over her words. "I forgot about it to be honest." You glared at her.
"You forgot your best friend was sick?" You said coldly. "Why tell Draco you didn't know where I was?"
"Well, I told him that because you've been acting really strange. When you spend a lot of time with him you act strange. He's a bad influence on you." Sam said seriously. "As for not telling you," she looked at Sabastien. "I just forgot to let you know."
"Draco is not a bad influence on me Sam." You said calmly. "He's going through a lot and you wouldn't understand." You stood up. "If you would just get to know Draco and stop acting like he's the devil, you would learn he's not who you think he is." You stepped back and faced away from her. "Try to understand." You continued to speak calmly but had a hint of sorrow in your voice. You sighed and joined Draco at the Slytherin table.
"What's going on?" Draco asked as you sat beside him. You told him what just happend only to hear a snicker from Perkinson.
"So your best friend doesn't even want you to be over here. So leave!" She said. You ignored her but Draco shot her a dirty look.
"Perkinson, I have had enough of your attitude towards (y/n). You don't like her here, YOU LEAVE." You smiled knowing that Draco ment it.
The rest of the week went by and Draco had been hard to find. You assumed he was working on the cabinet in the Room of Requirement but everytime you looked there, he was nowhere to be found.
"He's vanished again!" You said to yourself as you entered the girls bathroom on the second floor. "How am I supposed to help him if he keeps hiding?" You could usually talk out loud to yourself in this bathroom. Not many people used it because of Myrtle, the ghost who lived here.
"Who are you looking for?" Myrtle asked, floating out of a stall.
"My boyfriend." You sighed and leaned on the sink.
"Oh," she said and floated closer. "Boys don't keep their words, do they?"
"It's not that, Myrtle. Draco is just going through a rough time and I can't get him to talk to me." You said sadly and focused on your shoes. "He gets bullied at home and so he feels like he can't trust people with his most deep secrets." You confided in Myrtle. You usly did. "I stand up for him all the time and he doesn't seem to understand that my loyalties lie with him and him alone." You looked at Myrtle. "I even lost Sam as a friend. She won't talk to me since I told her to get to know Draco." You looked back at the floor. "How can I get him to understand?"
"I don't really know." She answered. "There's a boy I talked to the other day feeling the same way. He gets bullied and feels lonely like he as no one to talk to."
"Is it Draco?" You asked her, giving her a look that said you already knew the answer. She looked shocked and shook her head. "Myrtle?"
"I promised not to tell anyone." She said.
"Ok, ok." You replied. "You don't have to tell me. But if the boy is Draco, let him know I'm here for him, and I need to talk to him about something." You hadn't had the chance to tell him what you over heard Potter and Weasley talking about in the infirmary. Myrtle didn't reply but smiled and floated back into her stall.
The following Sunday, most of the sixth-year students who were seventeen, or would be soon, gathered together and headed off to Hogsmead for an Apparition practice day. You, however had gone to the Room of Requirement to work on the cabinet in hope of finding Draco. You were sitting on the floor, reading the book you got over Christmas break, when the door opend.
"Hey!" You said excitedly. "I have been looking for you everywhere." Draco didn't say anything but sat down on the floor beside you. "You ok?" You asked when Draco pulled you into a side hug.
"Myrtle told me you were looking for me." He said softly. "And I know you're here for me."
"Anytime you need me." You reminded him, handing him the book. "I didn't get a chance to talk to you alone since I was in the hospital wing." You said seriously. "I think Potter is onto you. He said something about wanting to know what you're doing and where you're going. He said that you disappear off of a map." You said the last sentence as if it was words your didn't know.
"Yeah, Potter is nosey. I'm not worried about him. That's what I have my guards for." He said, standing up.
