The next day, you went to the last of your exams ending with History of Magic at 2 pm. You were doing just fine, and was almost done, when you heard a thud somewhere in the back of the Great Hall. Everyone looked back to see what happened. Getting off the floor was Potter. It appeared he had fallen asleep. You rolled your eyes and looked back at your paper, as Professor Tofty was helping Potter into the corridor.
"Please return to your exams" one of the other examiners said becuase many of the students were still looking back towards the doors. You finished up your text soon after that.
Once the exam was done, the fifth years filed out of the Great Hall. With about 15 min before the rest of the school came down for dinner, you thought you would go outside and find a good tree to sit under so you could get some fresh air. You had been stuck inside so much lately and needed to be away from the large crowds of students for only a few minutes.
"How do you think you did?" Draco asked as he sat down next you. You had only been alone for about a minute before he found you.
"I did fine." You smiled at him.
"I heard..." Draco said in a mocking voice. "that Hagrid left the school." You gave him a dirty look. Draco seemed to revel in the fact that Hagrid was gone. "I bet the great olf did something horrible."
"He didn't." You said plainly. Draco looked at you confused. "He didn't do anything. Umbridge went to his hut last night and attacked him." You told Draco all you had witnessed the night before.
"Wait, how do you know all of this? You were supposed to be in bed. I walked you back to the Hufflepuff House." Draco asked you in a curious tone.
"Well, I went back outside and watched from the forest. Besides..." you were going to tell him how Sam told you anyways, but he cut you off.
"You did what?!" Draco asked angrily. "Why would you go out after dark?"
"Don't lecture me Draco. You wouldn't have cared if I was in the star room." You replied.
"The star room isn't dangerous; the forest is!" Draco yelled as you rolled your eyes.
"Don't roll your eyes at me." Draco said annoyed. "I've been charged to protect you, remember."
"So, you're only upset because he told you to protect me, and I went off a d did something dangerous?" You asked angrily.
"No, but he would be mad if something happened to you." Draco said taken aback.
"Well, I'm alive, aren't I?" You asked him sarcastically. "Look Draco, there's nothing you can do about it now. It's in the past, so get over it." Draco went to say something when he was interrupted.
"Malfoy" came the voice of one of his fellow Slytherins. "Professor Umbridge wants you to come up to her office with her; something about people breaking into it." He said.
"Alright Warrington, I'm coming." Draco replied in a drawling voice, turning to speak to the boy. "Give me a second and I'll catch up." Warrington nodded and headed back to the school. Draco truned back to you.
"Who was that?" You asked. You had seen him on the Slytherin Quidditch team and you know he was a member of the Inquisitorial Squad, but you didn't know his name. Draco gave you a confused look.
"He's a chaser on the Slytherin Quidditch team." Draco said as if you should have known that.
"I don't even know most of the players from my own house." You said annoyed.
"His name is Cassius Warrington, he's a seventh year." Draco said fast before sighing. "I've got to go. I'll see you later." He leaned over and kissed you, forgetting that he was just agueing with you a minute ago. He got of the ground and fallowed after Warrington. You smiled and went in for dinner where you sat down next to Sam.
"Oh, (y/n)!" Sam said startled. "Where have you been?" You told her about the argument you and Draco just had.
"Then, before leaving, he kisses me, as if he forgot he was mad at me." You said astonished"
"Guess he's not nearly as mad as you thought he was." Sam said taking a bite from he plate. You nodded in agreement. After you finished eating you wandered back outside. Only to find Umbridge fallowing Potter and Granger out the frunt doors.
"What's going on?" You asked yourself. "Isn't Umbridge supposed to be in her office with Draco?" You looked down the corridor expecting to see Draco or one of the other Inquisitorial Squad members. When none of them showed up, you fallowed after Umbridge. The three of them were now walking past Hagrids hut into the forbidden forest. You trailed them for a little bit before you heard one of them fall.
"It's a bit further in!" You heard Granger call out. It must have been Umbridge that fell. You followed them deep into the woods.
"Not far now!" Granger yelled as you got close enough to now see them. "Just a little bit..." she called out as an arrow missed her. You could hear the sound of hooves running through the trees as the ground rumbled. Umbridge let out a girlish scream and pulled Potter in front of her like he was a shield. He pulled himself from her grasp as no less the fifty centaurs encircled the three. The centaurs had their bows loaded and raised. Granger smiled, proud that they were trapped. You were confused by Granger's strange reaction. Weren't they all in serious danger? Not to mention, Draco was going to livid when he found out you fallowed them into such danger. It was only just an hour ago that he was telling you the forest was dangerous and he didn't want you going into it. You watched the group as you thought about how mad Draco was going to be.
