The next mornning was your birthday. You were finally 11 years old. You sat in your room on the bench under your window. Looking out your window at the neighbors house, you thought about how weird that Malfoy boy was yeaterday. (n/n) was sleeping next to you. This little baby niffler was so tiny and cute, but you didn't even know the first thing about nifflers. You set your mind up to go to the public libary later and see if they had anything that would help.
You watched owls flying in the bright sunlight. This was normal for the house next door. They seem to have owls for pets.
You were petting (n/n), when you saw an owl flying straight for your window. It seemed to be carring an envelope. You opened your window because it was flying at full speed. You didn't want it to hit the glass.
It flew straight in and dropped the envelope onto your lap. Then the owl landed on your bed. You picked up the letter; it was addressed to you.
Ms. (l/n)
The room up stairs
The (l/n) mannerYou opened it, and found two pieces of paper.
'Dear Ms. (f/n)(l/n), we are pleased to announce that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.' The fist paper said. On the second paper was a list of things you would need for the school year.
You staired down at the paper. What was this? You thought maybe is was a prank from that weird Malfoy boy next door? You looked over at the owl, who had gone to sleep on your pillow. It was pritty small, and light gray in color. (n/n) was cowering under the bench. You guessed he didn't like owls. Maybe they were naturally afraid of them.
"Come on out (n/n)." You said, getting down on the floor. The baby niffler timidly crawled out. "It's ok, the owl is sleeping."
You picked (n/n) up. Carrying him and the letter, you went down stairs.
"Mom," you said handing her the letter which she took. You put (n/n) down and he ran off out side.
"Did an owl bring this?" She asked you concerned. How did she know?
"Yeah, it flew in my window, and is now sleeping on my bed." You told her. She told you to not worrie about it and to go play. You went out side to find (n/n).
You wondered into the garden where you found that Malfoy boy. He had (n/n) upside down by his back legs.
"LEAVE (N/N) ALONE!" You yelled running towards him. You must have starled Draco because he droped the niffler. (n/n) ran over to you and jumped onto your shoulder.
"What do you want?" You asked him angrily.
"I saw that owl fly into your house." Draco said, noding up to your window and picking up a book that was sitting on one of the garden benchs.
"What of it?" You eye balled him. It must have been a prink he was pulling on you. He did just tell you yesterday that he was a wizard, and now you have a letter from a school who teaches such things.
"Was it a Hogwarts letter?" He asked. You gave him a dirty look and walked back inside with (n/n), who was sticking his toung out at the strange kid.
Draco fallowed you inside trying to talk to you. "Go away!" you said not trunning to look at him.
"I told you magic was real." He said. "but if your getting one, then that means your a Mudblood." He continued. You ignored him and took (n/n) up to your room and slammed the door in his face. What on earth was a mudblood?
He was truly a nut. What did he want? Draco kept it up talking at the door, but you weren't listening to what he said. The owl, who was still sleeping on your bed, woke up to the noise Draco was causing. The owl flew out the window in a huff.
"Can you open the door please," Draco called out while he knocked on the door.
"What?!" You said opening the door annoyed.
"I thought you would like this," Draco held out the book he had picked up earlier.
"What's that?" You questioned him.
"A book." Draco said as if you were stupid.
"I can see that it's a book, what's it about?" You replied to him talking in the same manner.
"I thought maybe, since you didn't even know what a niffler was, you would like to borrow it."
"I was just going to go to the public libary later..." You started, but was cut off.
"You stupid mudblood, you wouldn't find anything about nifflers there." Draco's tone truned cold. Mudblood must have been a term used for people like you. Muggles who could do magic.
You still didn't quite understand that. Magic tricks weren't your cup of tea. You couldn't even do simple tricks, let alone real magic.
"(n/n) is a fantastic beast," Draco went on. "You can't just go and find information on them just any where." He spoke as if you should have known this. Draco shoved the book into your hands. "It's from my father's libary so don't worrin it." He was acting cold.
You sat down on the bench under your window. Draco stood in door way. You looked at him.
"Are you coming in or leaving?" You asked coldly. You were still upset with him for torchering (n/n). Draco walked in.
"You have a farely large room." Draco looked around. "Mines big, but not this big." You looked out the window trying to ignore him. (n/n) climbed onto your lap.
"I've never been in a muggles home before." Draco said sitting on your bed.
You had bookshelfs full of books along one wall. On the other walls, were drawings of creachers you had seen in the garden and the patch of trees on the outskirts of your land.
"Woooow." Draco said to himself getting up to walk closer to one of the drawings. "Who drew these?" He asked never taking his eyes off the drawing. You looked over at it too. It was a fairy flying around some flowers.
"I did." You said smiling.
"Hello," your mom said, looking at Draco. You jumped up.
"MOM!" You said surprized. "This is Draco, he lives next door." Draco just stood there looking at her.
"It's almost time for dinner, is your friend staying?" You looked at her in shock. Was she really going to let you have a friend over. You looked at Draco.
"I am not, muggle" he said, walking out of your room. You looked out your window again.
"Dinner will be done soon, so clean up and come down." Your mom said sweetly before leaving herself. You watched Draco walk home, and you got ready for dinner.
At the dinner table, your mom gave your dad the letter the owl brought that morning. He read it to himself then looked up from the paper.
"I guess we're go to Diagon Alley tomorrow." He said. Were your parents in on this prank? They acted like it was all normal.
You went to bed that night thinking that your mom and dad were just trying to pull a fast one over your eyes. You weren't gonna let them trick you.
