The next few week flew by and before you knew it, the snow was melting bt the spring rain that was now replacing it. February was finally here and the start of Appartition Lessons was upon you. Classes we to be held on Saturday mornings in the Great Hall.

You entered the hall with Sam and noticed Professors McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, and Sprout. Standing with them was a wizard who was oddly pale with wispy hair and clear eye lashes. You assumed he was the instructor.

"Quiet down" the head of houses told the students. It took a minute or so before the room fell silent.

"Good morning, my name is Wilkie  Twycross and I shall be you Ministry Appartition instructor for the next twelve weeks. I hope to be able to prepare you for your Appartition Test in this time..." The Ministry wizard said.

"Malfoy, be quite and pay attention!" Professor McGonagall called out over Twycross. Everyone looked at Draco who looked back a bit pink. He seemed to be arguing with Crabbe.

"...by which time, many of you may be ready to take your tests," Twycross went on as if Noone said anything. "As you may know, it it usually impossible to Appartition or Disapparate within Hogwarts. The headmaster has lifted this enchantment, purely within the Great Hall, for one hour, so as to enable you to practice. May I emphasize that you will not be able at Apparate outside the walls of this Hall, and that you would be unwise to try. I would like each of you to place yourself now so that have a clear five feet of space in front of you."

The whole room started to shuffle around. Sam moved to be near Sabastien and you made your way to Draco's side. Students started arguing about were they wanted to stand and the teachers had to break up the fights. Potter was making a V-line to the other side of the Great Hall and ended up next to you and directly behind Draco. Why? You didn't actually know. But he seemed to be curious about what Draco and Crabbe were talking about earlier.

"I don't know how much longer, all right? It's taking longerthan I thoughtit would" Draco snapped at his friend. "Look, it's none of your business what I'm doing, Crabbe, you and Goyle just do as you're told and keep a lookout!" He said when Crabbe opend his mouth to speak.

"I tell my friends what I'm up to, if I want the to keep a lookout for me." Potter said loud enough for Draco to hear him. Draco spun on the spot. You glared at Potter with same look Draco was giving him.

"Quiet!" The four head of houses said and the room fell silent again. You looked forward again as Draco turning around slowly.

"Thank you. Now then," Twycross said as he waved his wand. Before each student, an antique hoop appeared on the floor. "The important things to remember when Apparating are the three D's! Destination, Determination, Deliberation! Step one: fix your mind firmly upon the desired destination. In this case, the interior of your hoop. Kindly concentrate upon that destination now." You looked around to see that everyone else was looking around too before looking into their hoops. You did the same. "Step two: focus your determination to occupy the visualized space! Let your yearning to enter it flood from your mind to every particle of your body!" You stared into your hoop. "Step three: and only when I give you the cammand... turn on the spot, feeling your way into nothingness, moving with deliberation! On my command, now...one," you looked up at Twycross, surprised you doing this so fast. "Two" He went on counting. You looked back at your hoop. "Three!"

The whole of the Great Hall spun on three only to find themselves falling over. You had hit the ground and getting back your feet when Twycross spoke again.

"Never mind, never mind, adjust your hoops, please, and back to your original position..." The second and third attempts were just as horrible as the first. On your forth try, a blood curdling scream came from a fellow Hufflepuff.

Susan Bones was standing in her hoop but had left her left leg where she had come from. The four head of houses all ran to her and with a loud bang and a puff of purple smoke, she was back to normal, except she looked horrified and was sobbing.

"Splinching, or the separation of random body parts," Twycross said as if it was no big deal. "Occurs when the mind is insufficiently determined.
You must concentrate continuously upon your destination, and move without haste, but with deliberation...thus..." He stepped forward, spun and vanished and within the same second reappeared at the back of the hall. "Remember the three D's and try again...one...two...three"

"That's something he should have told us before we started." You mumbled to yourself annoyed.

An hour later, nothing had changed. Students were still falling over and failing missuabley. This, however, didn't seem to bother Twycross, who had buttoned his robes, saying, "Until next Saturday, everybody, and do not forget: Destination, Determination, Deliberation." He waved his wand and the hoops disappeared.

"That was an annoying lesson," Draco complained as you fallowed him, Crabbe and Goyle out of the Great Hall. "I'll catch up guys." He said and let them walk ahead.

"I don't think I care for Twycross," you said to Draco. "Not much help there was he?"

"No he wasn't." Draco said, a bit distracted. "Can you meet me later in the Room of Requirement." You nodded. "I know we planned on going after this but with..."

"Potter being nosey." You finished his sentence. "Yeah, no problem." I'll meet you later."

"You're the best." Draco said, kissed you, and ran off to cath up with his friends. You went to the Room of Requirement a few hours later expecting to find Draco there but he wasn't there. You picked up the book you got in Diagon Alley and started where Draco left off. After a while, Draco came in and took truns with casting the spells, and trying what the book suggested.
