It wasn't long before November faded into December. You walked into the Great Hall one morning to see Draco hanging garland on the rafters with Perkinson.
"Woops, sorry, Drakey." Perkinson said, as she dropped her half of the garland on purpose. Draco staired at her with a dirty look.
"Wingardium Leviosa" You said after pulling out your wand. The garland flew back up to Perkinson. She grabbed it, but gave you a death glare. You ignored her and sat down at the Hufflepuff table. Once Draco climbed down the latter, he joined you.
"Thanks for that." He said sitting down. "She's been driving me nuts since she found out we broke up."
"I bet, she still likes you." You sighed.
"Yeah well, I'm tired of her acting like a gitty girl. We're 15 now, not 12." Draco sounded annoyed but he had a point. Perkinson acted like a fool around Draco. You looked over at her at the Slytherin table. She was glaring at you again.
"So, are you excited for the Christmas brake?" Draco pulled your gaze from the Slytherin table to him by his qustion.
"No." You replied coldly. Draco looked at you confused.
"But...you are spending it at the manner with me. You're not looking forward to it?" He asked after a second of staring at you.
"No, I am not." You said annoyed, before looking at the table. "We're not together anymore, remember?" You asked him softly.
"I know, but..." Draco started.
"You're going to be there, right?" Draco nodded. "Then, it's going to be too hard. It's hard enough here."
"Oh..." Draco looked down. He must have just realized what you were telling him. Christmas at the Malfoy manner was going to be difficult with Draco there because you loved him. You loved him so much and his father had made the two of you brake up.
You spent the day in dread. You would much rather go to Sam's for Christmas, but because she was a muggle-born, your parents decided that sending you to the Malfoys was better. How could they do that to you? You were unusually quiet throughout the day. It was at dinner time that Sam finally got you to tell her what was on your mind. You told her everything. It felt good to tell someone who wasn't Draco. As mush as you loved Draco, he didn't seem to understand how it felt like torture. Sam was your best friend, she got it.
"So, let me get this straight." Sam said as the two of you walked into the Hufflepuff common room. "Lucius, Draco's dad, wanted you to break up with his son?" You nodded. "Only you have you spend the whole Christmas break with him?" Again, you nodded. "That's just plane evil!"
"It borders on torture." You said sadly.
"So, what are you going to do?" Sam asked, as you sat in front of the fire.
"I don't know." You sighed. "Grit my teeth and bare it, I suppose."
"That's not right. Why don't you just spend the brake with me? I'm sure my parents wouldn't understand." Sam suggested.
"I would love too; however..."
"But your parents would say no." Sam finished your sentence in disappointment.
"I'll just deal with it. It's not going to be for long. I'll be back here in the Hufflepuff common room again, in no time at all." You gave sam a fake smile, that she saw right through.
"If you want to talk, you can alway send me a letter. Draco will let you use his owl, I'm sure of it." She smiled and your eyes widened with a thought.
"Hold on, I'll be right back." You said and left Sam sitting in the common room as you ran out. You went to the star room hopeing to find Draco there, to no avail. You looked all over the school when you found him outside in courtyard by himself. You smiled as you watched him making snow angels from the third floor. There were angles all over the ground. You made your way down stairs and outside to him.
"Draco?" He must not have heard you walking through the snow because he fell back ruining his latest angel. You put out a hand and helped him up.
"I was bored." Draco said defensively. You smiled at him.
"I was hoping you could help me with something." You said ignoring his words. "Do you have that crystal ball that you used to call me at Kathy's?"
"Yeah...why?" Draco sounded cautious. You told him how you had an idea.
"You see, if I could let Sam barrow mine," you said happily.
"Then you could talk with her while you were at the manner." Draco said smiling. "I'll be sure to being it back with me."
"Thanks." You kissed him without thinking and started to run off.
"(Y/n)!" Draco called out and chased after you. "Do you realize you just kissed me?" You stoped walking and truned a deep red. You didn't realize you did that. "It's ok. I didn't mind." Draco said playfully. You smiled at him. You started walking again. Draco decided he was going to escort you back to the common room. You wanted so bad to hold his hand while you walked.
"I tryed to call you last year on the ball." You said after a minute of silence.
"I never unpacked it." Draco said calmly.
"That would explain why it didn't work. Is it still packed this year?" You asked. Draco nodded. "How come?"
"To lazy to pull it out and set it up." He replied in a plain voice. You reached the common room and said goodnight to Draco. Sam was now in the dorm room.
"Where on earth did you run off too?" Sam asked, as you rummaged through your trunk. "And what are you doing now?"
"I went to find Draco." You said and pulled the crystal ball out. You set it up on the end table between you and Sam.
"What are you doing?" Sam asked as the ball lit up blue and showed Draco's face. You had asked Draco to set his up too and call, so you could show sam how to use it. You tapped the ball. You and Draco explained how it worked and how you use it. Sam loved it.
"So you're going to take this home with you, and I'll have Draco's. Then we can talk when ever." You said.
"It's like a video call." Sam said excitedly. Draco gave her a puzzled look. You and Sam explained to him how you could use something called a web cam to do the sam thing in the muggle world.
"Muggles are so strange." Draco said before you all said goodnight and headed off to bed.
