You and Draco were sitting at the foot of your bed, while he held you close to him. It was nice to he held by him again, but it just made you miss him more. You stood up and walked to the window.
"We can't be like that." You said sadly, truning back to face Draco. "We're supposed to be broken up."
"We can still be friends." Draco told you. He spoke as if you didn't already know that.
"But, Draco, can we be just friends?" You asked, walking back to him. You were half way back to bed, when there was a knock on the door. You froze and the door opend to reveal Draco's mom, Narcissa.
"Come down stairs." She said and left again, leaving the door open. You and Draco looked at each other then fallowed.
Draco's pov
You walked ahead of Draco, who was watching you with longing eyes. He wanted to hold your hand; to hold you. You were acting so distant.
'Are you in as much pain as I am?' He thought as if you could read his mind. You guys reached the dinning room. Draco's dad was sitting next to The Dark Lord, who was at the head of the table. People sat all around the table.
Your pov
Most of the people you didn't recognize. You looked around the room and spotted Dameon. You scowled and heard Draco let out a small angry grown. Your eyes drifted to Draco. He was eyeing Dameon too.
"Please sit." Narcissa whispered to the two of you. Draco walked over to his father, and sat in the seat next to him. You sat in the only seat left; next to an old witch you didn't know. You were close to the foot of the table, the opposite end from Draco and a few seats from Dameon, who was on the same side of the table as you.
"What's going on?" You asked, in a soft whisper.
"Shhh." The old witch put a finger to her lips.
"Noooow" Voldemort hissed. "I heard that the Ministry has wormed their way into Hogwarts." Many of the Hogwarts students, including Perkinson, Crabbe and Goyle, in attendance nodded. You looked at Draco. He was staring at you. Much like he did back in the first year. Voldemort kept talking, but you staired back at Draco and wasn't listening. Soon the food arrived and everyone was eating and chatting. The noice level was so loud that you were developing a headache. You excused yourself and headed up to your room. An hour passed, and you were almost asleep, when you heard a voice speak.
"Well, well, well." You sat up startled. "Didn't think you would have the nerve to come back here."
"Go away Perkinson." You said annoyed and layed back down. Was she really going to start things now? "I don't have the patience to deal with you right now."
"Oh really?" She said and walked closer to you. "What are you doing here? You and my dear Drakey aren't together anymore."
"Leave me alone." You said again, annoyed.
"No, I don't think I will." Perkinson said mischievously. You rolled over to face away from her. "You see, I've been telling you for years now to stay away from Drakey. You don't listen." You tryed to ignore her, but she was pushing your buttons. "I tryed to teach you a few lessons even."
"Go away!" You said in a warning tone of voice.
"You seem to have a heard time learning them." Perkinson continued, ignoring you. "So, you better watch your back because I plan on teaching you another soon."
"You don't learn either." You said, remembering the Puckung Pastels you and Draco gave her. "Now, GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" You yelled at her, as you sat up. Perkinson smiled. "GET OUT!" You yelled again.
"You do not have the right to tell me to leave." Perkinson said, almost laughing. She was taunting you now. You stood up to force her out, but didn't get the chance.
"This room is (y/n)'s." Draco said, in a calm, soothing voice. Perkinson flipped around, obviously startled. "She has the right to kick you, or anyone for that matter, from this room all she wants." You sat back down on the bed. "Now, you were told to go to bed like the rest of us." Draco grabbed Perkinson and pulled her from your room.
"Thanks." You said to Draco, as he smiled and shut the door. You layed back down and drifted back to sleep.
Draco's pov
"Drakey, let me go." Perkinson whined. He dropped her arm and kept walking. "How come she gets her own room, and so close to yours?"
"That's none of your business." Draco replied.
"Drakey?" Perkinson said as she fallowed after him. "I want a room next to yours."
"This is your room." Draco opend the door to the room on the other end of the hall. "Be grateful you have a room on this floor at all. You could have one up stairs, with the servants." Perkinson didn't say anything, but she walked into her room. Draco shut the door behind her, and headed back to his.
Your pov
The next few days went by very slowly. You spent a lot of time in your room with (n/n). Draco tryed to brighten each day up to no avail. It was now Christmas eve night and the only thing that seem to keep you sain was the crystal ball. You spoke to Sam every night before bed. She was having a blast with her family, and tonight wasn't any different. Sam was telling you how her older brother, who had no magical abilities at all, was teasing her about Sebastian. She had made the mistake; she told him about Sebastian being her boyfriend. You were listening to Sam's ramblings when Draco knocked and walked into your room.
"Hi, Sam." Draco said, sitting down next to you at the foot your bed. Sam didn't even notice him. She kept on talking.
"I just came in to give you this." Draco said, handing you a wrapped box. "It's an early Christmas gift." You smiled and took the box. "I thought I would give it to you tonight, with us being separated and all."
"Then I'll give you what I got you." You said setting the box down behind you. You got off the bed and pulled a small box from your trunk. "Open it." Draco smiled and did as he was told.
"A quill?" Draco said pulling a feathered pen from It's box.
"A secret quill." You said excited. "I found them in Diagon Alley. You don't have to fill it with ink. You just write like normal and the ink refills it's self."
"What makes it a secret?" Draco asked confused. He rolled the quill between his fingers.
"You can write a message, and it will scramble the letters around." You said. "Then, when it finds its was to the person you intended the message for, it unscrambles. All you have to do, is think of that person while you write."
"So, that means I can send you messages all I want." Draco smirked.
"Yeah, I have one too. Who knew it would come in handy now though?" You said, thinking. Draco looked at you perplexed. "I got these before school started."
"These?" Draco asked.
"Yeah, I got one too." You said, while opening the box Draco gave you.
"These quills..." Draco said looking at it again. "You bewitched them. Didn't you." You looked up at him. "You did. Didn't you? I've seen these before, but they don't scramble anything." He was right. You just wanted him to know how it felt to be told they were bought. You spelled them back on the train, you just couldn't help it. You started laughing, which mad Sam stop talking.
"Yes, I made Sam help me test them out." You said with a large smile. Sam agreed with you.
"When did Draco get there?" Sam asked, as you pulled a book from the box.
"He's been here for a while now." You said casually. The book Draco gave you was a muggle book. (Pick your favorite book from 1995) You flipped threw it.
"Draco? Did you...?" You started asking.
"Yes, I went into the muggle village a few days ago. I thought you needed a new book for your collection. "I went Grin Gotts and changed my money to muggle money. That was such a pain. Turns out, muggle money is hard to understand." You hugged him. Draco was so thoughtful at times.
