Gabby's POV
After a while, me and Matt finally got out of the shower. Unfortunately, it was not because we were done having fun but because Matteo needed us. Or, more specifically...he needed me. As I walked into the nursery while putting my jeans on...I saw him smile at me. I could already tell her was going to have a really positive attitude and personality. There's no way a kid that already smiles this much at 1 month old isn't going to be a happy baby.
As I moved to grab him, I smiled at him while cradling him in my arms. I then decided to speak to him in spanish. "buenos dias mi hermoso bebe" I said to him, making sure he learned my maiden language as well. Unfortunately, Matt wasn't doing so well in picking him up because I heard him talk to me from the door as I sat down in the rocking chair to start feeding Matteo.
"Remind me what that means again?" I turned to look at him and chuckled. "I say it every morning, yet you don't remember. It means good morning my beautiful baby boy." Matt smiled and then nodded. "Right. Well, he gets his looks from his mom because she is gorgeous." I smiled at him. "You already had your fun for a while. Go make breakfast. I am not staying cramped in here all day. I want to show Matteo the firehouse."
He stared at me in shock. "You haven't been there since you got back. You ready for that?" I nodded and smiled. "I've already seen everybody. Plus, I probably should treat everybody to some of my good cooking. Who's the new candidate anyways and how's his cooking?" Matt just looked at me and then gulped. "Babe, they would love your cooking today." I chuckled and smiled. "Good, because I need to get there eventually. I didn't spend much time there last time."
Matt nodded and smiled. "Sure, I will go make us some breakfast though. We walking there or are we going to take the car?" I thought about it and remembered we are just 15 minutes or so from the firehouse by walking. "We can walk. I need to start my exercises again. I've been cleared to start walking to and from the firehouse." Nodding again, Matt smiled at me before walking in. "Then I am going to start some breakfast. Come see me when this guys' done." He moved to rub his head and smiled, loving being a dad.
We both just stared at Matteo for a moment before Matt eventually left to go make us breakfast.
