90 minutes later when the fire is out.
Matt's POV: As we started packing up everything, I was glad to have a better outcome this time. Unlike our building, this time the building survived much longer and more people were saved. That's when I saw Gabby walk over to me. "Hey, I'm going to the hospital. I called med and they told me Boden is there if you want to join me?"
I turned to look at her and nodded. "That sounds great. We need to go anyways." She smiled before going to kiss my cheek. "At least this time, we aren't going for us." I smiled and nodded before letting her go. "I will make my way there. Get your smoke victim there. That's an order." She smirked at me and nodded.
That's when I heard Severide walk up to me. "You were a natural man. Honestly, you didn't even need me to instruct Gabby. You did it and make great calls." I smiled. "Thanks. So that means you'll okay when I get the upgrade to Chief before you?" Severide slapped my shoulder. "Of course, as long as you let me handle Squad my way."
I nodded and smiled at him before turning to Hermann. "Hermann, pack it up and go back to the firehouse. I'm going to the hospital to see Boden." Hermann nodded. "Got it. He's in the same room you and Gabby were in when you gave birth." I chuckled when I heard that. "Perfect. Now, if you don't mind...I am going to go join Gabby at the hospital."
I then turned around to get in the Chief's car before turning it on again and then driving to the hospital so that I could go see Chief and Donna.
