Matt's POV
As I finished collecting all of Matteo's toys, I finally made my way upstairs with the final box. I looked at Gabby as she stood at the counter eating some breakfast before setting the box down at the door. I decided to walk over to her to spend at least a moment with her because I hadn't really spent much time with her and Matteo since she woke up.
Walking up behind her, I moved my arms around her and then put my hands on her legs. "Hey." Gabby then turned to look at me and smiled. "Hey, how's the basement?" I smiled at her. "Pretty much done. I did a final sweep and there's nothing down there. You can either go take another look or we can just let Antonio do it when he cleans up. He can always give it to us."
Gabby smiled and nodded before wrapping her arms around my shoulders, kissing me softly. I smiled while kissing her, moving my hands to her hips. "I love you." Gabby smiled as she pulled away. "I love you too. Now, the more work we get done here....the faster we can move to our new home." I smiled and nodded. "Thank god we already moved in a few things."
I smiled and nodded. "Yes, our bed is already there and all assembled. Matteo's crib is there and the nursery is already ready. Thank god we got the keys last weekend. Gave us a week." That's when I saw Gabby look at me nervous. And then Antonio spoke up. "You got the keys last weekend and you are just moving now?!?" I sighed and looked at him.
"Antonio, we needed to get the place ready. We needed to paint and assemble some things. It was just easier this way. We got time to decorate it and do everything. Now, we just need to move our things in. I'm sorry about that." Antonio sighed and nodded. "Fine, you are lucky you are family and that I get why you did that."
Gabby smiled at me before rubbing my back. "Here, I made you some breakfast. Eat and I will help outside with how we want stuff placed in the truck. Is Severide out there?" I nodded before kissing her forehead. "Who's watching Matteo today?" That's when I heard Cindy Hermann walk into the house since the door is open. "That would be me."
