Care to Explain?

Gabby's POV

When I heard that Matt and Antonio's relationship needed to readjust, I was confused. I mean, what is there to readjust? They did have a relationship while I was gone right? Well, that is actually something I am not too sure about based on what happened at the hospital when I gave birth. God, this just got so confusing. I don't even know if I want to understand right now. Yet, here I am asking him to explain.

"Care to explain?" Matt looked at me and was about to explain when the waitress came back with our waters. "You guys ready to order?" I nodded and looked at her. "We are going to start with a Caesar to share. I am going to get the Steak Asada fajitas." Matt smiled at me. "14 Oz. New York Strip, Medium Rare" The waitress smiled and nodded. "Want the Caesar as your appetizer?"

I nodded and smiled. "Thanks." The waitress the grabbed our menus before walking away to put the order in. I then looked at Matt and then waited for him to answer. "Care to explain?" Matt nodded. "While you were gone, me and Antonio's relationship was strained to say the least. You already know what he felt. Yes, we still talked but...it wasn't the same. I tried to stay in touch with him because he was my last remaining 'family' in Chicago but then, he left too."

I nodded and felt bad. "But, him coming back was him being mad at me that I got you pregnant. So, we didn't start off on the right foot. I still feel like there's tension there and like we need to resolve it before our relationship is healed. And listen, I love that our marriage is back to what it was when we first were married but...I want to be in a good place with your brother too. He is Matteo's uncle and I don't want Matteo to grow up without cousins."

I nodded, feeling back for him as I rubbed his hand. "Trust me, we are close and that is not going to happen. Maybe tomorrow, you can hang out with him. Here, let me text him about you guys taking care of Matteo in the morning together while I book a spa treatment?" Matt nodded and smiled before going to drink some of his water while I texted Antonio.
