An Hour Later - Back at the Hotel
Matt's POV
As we got back to the hotel, I felt tired after saving that kid. I mean, I am so glad that I saved him but...I am not used to that much energy being used so fast. And of course, now I am full of grease so I have to take a shower. Shortly after walking into our room, I looked at Gabby who was carrying Matteo to his crib.
"So, I was just going to go take a shower. I have grease all over me because of the car and stuff." Gabby turned to look at me and nodded. "Sure thing. But, maybe instead we can use that nice bath in there? This is our honeymoon after all." I looked at her and smirked. Walking up to her, I wrapped my arms around her.
She then pushed me away. "Let me put him in his crib and then we can get close. We'll take a bath until he wakes up again and then room service?" I nodded and smiled, deciding to let her go put Matteo down. "Want to change him for bed first? We're staying here now." Gabby then looked at me. "Good idea. But remind me, tomorrow he needs his bath."
I nodded and smiled. "Listen, I am going to set up our suitcases somewhere and then I'll find the towels. Once he is ready...we can go in the bath. However, after all this I say we just relax here at the hotel and go to the pool instead of the beach tomorrow." Gabby nodded and smiled at me when we heard my phone. I looked at her. "Honeymoon....no phone?"
She checked the Caller ID and saw it was Severide. She then passed me the phone and looked at me. "It's your best friend. Pick it up and put it on speakerphone." I nodded and did as she asked.
