Jay's POV
God, this feels like deja vu. Last time I was here with Matt and Gabby, they were reporting on an assault by her father...now here we are, doing it again. This time though, I plan to make sure that the charges stick and that that son of a bitch rots in jail. He hurt my friend and now, he is going to get put behind bars for attempted assault. Walking up to the room, I felt bad.
That's when I heard my brother, Will turn to me. "Need a statement?" I nodded and sighed. "Whether it be from Gabby, Matt or both...I just need one for the record. I mean, I probably know what they are going to say but...for official purposes." Will chuckled. "We Halstead brothers need to start doing stuff by the book don't we?" I looked at my brother and laughed.
I then proceeded to walk in and looked at Matt and Gabby. "Okay, how about I just tell you what I think happened....I can write a statement and you can agree to it? Plus, Antonio already filed me in on what happened. I will show it to you and you guys can either just say yes or no to it?" They both looked at me and nodded. I then gave them the report I filled out on the way.
Gabby grabbed it first and then read it. Matt then read it too and sighed. "Can you please put in there that these events all happened within 2 weeks of each other? That has to make a difference. I mean, three threats and trips to the hospital in 2 weeks caused by one man....that has to make the prosecutor want to press charges. He can't be out there anymore."
I nodded and smiled at them. "Trust me, I will try and find something in his background that we can arrest him on other than just assault. If I can get him on something else too, that'll make it easier for him to plea as well because it may tempt him." We both nodded and smiled. "Thanks Jay. Now listen, can you deal with Antonio again?" He nodded when we heard Antonio.
"Did someone call for me and Mr. Matteo?" Antonio walked up to the room and smiled at us.
