It was Tuesday and the day of my discharge. I couldn't wait to get out and never come back to another hospital in my life. When I woke up I saw Evan and Phil in my room. I don't know how long they had been there, but I was so glad to see them. I knew today was going to be a good day, and it was about time. After everything I'd been through, I was ready to receive some good news. When they saw me wake up, they looked at me and smiled while I smiled back.

"Good morning sleeping beauty."

"Good morning guys! Please tell me you have some exciting news for me."

"We definitely do. We got it! We have it all."

"Oh, thank God. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm so happy to hear that."

"You'll be with Jake soon enough. I'm happy for you."

"Thank you Evan."

I looked at him without even taking my eyes off him for a second. He just looked back at me without saying anything. I'm sure Phil noticed since he just started coughing and clearing his throat for no reason at all. I looked at him without even taking my eyes off him for a second. As crazy as I felt, all I wanted to do was run up to Evan, throw myself into his arms and kiss him. I couldn't believe what I was feeling towards this man. I was so torn up inside. Soon after my doctor walked in and gave me some more great news. I was ready to get discharged.

"That's it, you're free to go. You're out of here. Hope I never see you again."

"The feeling is mutual doctor. Thank you for all your help. I won't ever forget it."

"You've been a great patient, but I am so glad to see you out."

I jumped out of that hospital bed I had been for the past four days, packed my stuff and headed out.

"Guys, I don't care where we go from here, but we gotta go."

"I actually have a surprise for you, let go."

I swear, Evan always had something up his sleeve. No matter what was going on, he always managed to find a way to think about me first and make me smile.

"I am so glad to see you're feeling great and getting out of this place. I do have some errands to run, so I'll catch up with you guys later on."

"Thank you so much for everything Phil. I can never repay you for everything you've done. None of this would be possible without you."

"You being alive is enough of a reward for me."

He hugs me and leaves Evan and I alone. Shortly after, I was out of the hospital and happier than I have been in a long time. I grabbed Evan by his hand which I noticed caught him by surprise.

"First, I want you to go and buy yourself a nice outfit. Second, we're throwing away this one you have one and with that throwing away all the horrible memories of that hospital."

"Right now?"

"As soon as you're ready!"

I looked at him, smiled and began to run towards his car. Out of nowhere it started pouring rain, we got completely soaking wet but I never felt more free in my entire life. As I was running, I remembered the woman from the hospital and her words of wisdom. Without even thinking about it, I stop running, look at Evan and kiss him right there on the spot.
