Our Special Day

"We're actually not done. A little bit more I promise." 

"What? There's more? Oh no I don't want to cry again I just stopped hehe." 

"Actually, I just want to say that together all of us want to send you a little getaway. We will watch Lilli and take very good care of her, while you two go off and enjoy each other like you both deserve" exclaimed my dad. 

"No, you guys can't be serious?!" 

"You're going to Santorini,Greece for a whole week" shouted Jessy. 

"Omg omggg noo there is no way. I have been wanting to go there my whole life" I said. 

"And now is the perfect time to go. You have your own travel buddy" said Thomas. 

"But guys what about Lilli?" Asked Evan. 

"You have nothing to worry about. Lilli will be safe with us and she will have everything she needs. You two deserve this more than anyone" replied my mom. 

Evan and I looked at each other and we were both filled with excitement and joy. I couldn't believe we were actually going to Santorini!!! We were leaving in two days and I couldn't be more excited to finally spend some alone and quality time with Evan. I knew we were going to have a wonderful time there. When all our friends left home that night, we got ready for bed. I fed Lilli and put her to sleep and we kissed my parents goodnight and headed off to bed. 

As I was laying in bed with Evan, I kept thinking about leaving Lilli behind. As excited as I was to go on a trip, I felt horrible. What if something happened and she needed me and I was nowhere close to her? What if the person who is going after me found out where my parents lived and attacked them while I was away? Evan could tell something was on my mind because I kept tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. 

"Honey, what's wrong? What's bothering you?" He asked. 

"I just don't feel right about leaving Lilli. What is he comes and takes her away again?"

"Babe if you don't feel comfortable, we don't have to go. I want you to have a good time there and if you're going to be sad or thinking about what could happen, then let's just stay. We can give our tickets to someone else."

"No, we deserve this. We have been through so much. It's just our first time being away from her for so long." 

"I know sweetheart. But, we will always call and be on video with them. And before you know it, we'll be back." 

"Yeah, you're right. I need to stop thinking so negatively. I'm sure everything will be just fine." 

He kissed me and wrapped me around his arms as we both fell asleep. 

We spent the next two days packing and spending as much time with Lilli as possible. I didn't want her to think I was just leaving her. Even though she was still little I was sure she could feel that I was leaving because she didn't want to be around anybody except for me the whole day. We had a very early flight on Friday morning. When I woke up that day I honestly felt like canceling the whole thing at least ten times. I just couldn't kiss her goodbye and leave. I felt like my heart was going to explode. Even though Evan was trying to act all tough, I knew him. I knew he wanted to stay with her just as much as I did, if not even more. 

Remember, the two of them were like best friends. She didn't want to do anything without her daddy. However, we somehow managed to get all the stuff into a car and drive to the airport. The whole ride there, we barely said two words. All we did was look at her pictures, and the few words we did say here and there were all Lilli related.
