Mission

Remember when I said that certain moments in our lives can change our whole lives? Well... I was currently living through that moment.

I couldn't let Jake leave thinking I was with another man while he was fighting for his life and fighting to find me. At least not without explaining the situation to him.

"Jake!!! Please stop, I am begging you. This isn't what it looks like. It's not what you think, " I shouted after him.

"It's not what I think? So you weren't just in bed with another man? It's exactly what it looks like, " he replied.

"Stop!!! You don't get to do that. You don't get to come in here and judge me based on a single moment you just saw. Let me at least explain."

"There is nothing for you to explain. When you were with Evan, I understood. I never once blamed you or said anything. But, this! Whatever is going on here, I don't understand. I was bleeding in that hotel, praying to God I would live to see another day so that I could be with you. Wounded and scared, I searched for you, and I came..."

"I didn't do anything!!! I just had horrible nightmares, and he was there to make me feel safe. We just accidentally fell asleep, and that was it. We didn't do anything wrong."

"I love you damn it!!! I LOVE YOU. But, I can't share you with another man. I don't blame you, I mean, look at him. He is everything I'm not. If you're going to be happy, then be with him. I just can't wait around for you to maybe one day decide to give me a chance."

"Are you crazy??? I don't want to be with any other man. I don't want to spend time with anybody else but you. I have been in love with you since the beginning, and I am still in love with you. Don't you understand? I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU."

Moments...

The moments that change our lives when we least expect them to. This was one of those moments... the moment we realized and admitted our feelings to one another. Years after being apart, after all the hell we had both been through, after heartbreaks, after tears and injuries, after losing loved ones and learning to trust again... we were both finally ready to admit our feelings.

For me, this was the moment that changed my life. It wasn't just my life that changed, but it was both of our lives. From now on, it was Jake and I against the world. But we couldn't win this war on our own. We needed help from friends and people who were here to help us get to the top. So, my first job for now was to introduce the two main men of my life to each other. Jake and Viktor... were the two men who were responsible for keeping me and each other alive.

"Jake, this is Viktor. He is the man who has been keeping me safe here and the one responsible for my safety while I am in Nanjing China. Viktor, this is Jake. The man that is responsible for stealing my heart as well as you know me being in this whole mess in the first place, hehe."

"Nice to meet you, Jake. I've heard about you and I was expecting you, just not this soon. But we do crazy things for the women we love, " exclaimed Viktor.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well. Thank you for keeping her safe while I was away. You're absolutely right. There is nothing in this world I wouldn't do for her, including come to China and be stuck in some building with men that nearly shot me twice at the entrance alone."

"Those are the guards. They are just doing their jobs. They mean no harm. But, they are responsible for keeping the rest of us alive, " responded Viktor.

From today on, this was our lives.

Our mission now was to find the men responsible for our lives being turned upside down and to get our lives back to normal. Well, as normal as we possibly could.
