Neither of us stayed asleep too long. We both woke up really early the next day. My siblings would be here within the next few hours. My excitement was through the roof but my anxiety was even worse, I couldn't wait for all of us to be together once again. It honestly felt like a dream more than reality.
When my parents died, I knew that our family would never be complete again. Now, to be standing here waiting for my siblings to walk through the door is something I could only dream about. The reality of that ever happening died at the same time they did. So, to say that I was nervous, excited, anxious and overwhelmed would be an understatement.
Within a few hours I received a text message from my sister saying they had landed in Nanjing China and that they were at the airport. I was already on my way there when she texted me so I told my dad that I was going to pick up Viktor and Silas and that we would be here as soon as possible.
Once I was at the airport, I got out and walked to the front where I saw them coming out of the plane and to the front.
As soon as they saw me, they both ran up to me and hugged me as tight as they could. We were all in tears, especially my brother and I. I had seen my sister a month ago but it didn't even matter, we all just hugged and cried. At this point I was a little worried how my dad was going to handle this, I didn't want him getting a heart attack from happiness.
"Are you guys ready to go?" I asked as I looked at them and touched them on their faces.
I couldn't believe they were both actually standing in front of me. This felt like a dream I never wanted to wake up from...
"We can't wait to see dad and Lilli," said my brother.
"There are also a couple of more people I can't wait for you guys to meet."
"Your new boyfriend right?"
"Yeah he's one of them" I exclaimed.
"Aileen told me all about him. Actually, a little too much to the point where I have a headache."
"Snitches get stitches, you know that right? Plus, I was bored on that long ass ride here. I had to do something" continued Aileen.
We all got into the car and drove back home all together. We were all so anxious and nervous that either of us hardly spoke. After driving for about an hour, we were finally at the front of the house. Before we entered the house, I told them to wait in front of the door as I walked in and saw Jake, Lilly and my dad sitting down and talking.
"Hi guys" I said as I entered the house.
"Hi honey, how was the trip?"
"Everything went smoothly. But I do need you guys to help me take something to the inside. Do you guys mind helping?"
Both Jake and my dad got up. I grabbed Lilli into my arms and walked in front of them towards the front door. Before I opened the door, I took one last breath and turned the knob opening the door. As soon as the door opened, my dad saw them standing there. I literally thought my dad was going to pass out, so much so that Jake had to grab him before he fell to the ground. He looked completely shocked by what he saw. My siblings both ran into my dad's arms as they all hugged each other and cried.
"I can't believe my eyes. I can't believe you are both here in my arms" cried out my dad.
"Dad!!! I am so so happy that you're alive. I thought I was never going to get the chance to hug you again" exclaimed my sister.
"I dreamed of this day but I was aware that it could never happen. Now, my reality is better than any dream I've ever had" continued my brother.
As I watched them hug and kiss each other, I cried the entire time. My heart had never felt more full and finally free after so many years of pain and suffering. This was my first sign that everything was going to be okay. It felt like this was the first step to the freedom we all wanted and deserved.
