Once Lilli got dressed we headed out to get breakfast and go to the park.
We chose this small place that's famous in the city for having the best food. Honestly we could have anywhere, it just felt amazing to finally be able to walk down the streets without having to look behind my back to see if someone is following me. It actually didn't feel real yet. I couldn't believe that this was the reality that after so long I was finally free. Seeing Jake and Lilli hold hands as they walked beside me was one of the sweetest things ever. I felt like I was in a dream and I was scared to wake up and get back to reality where MWAF would still be here to haunt me. The crazy thing is that I hardly remember my life without this craziness in it. I hardly remember what it was like to just live a normal life so much so that now being out and having breakfast like a normal family felt very strange and unknown to me. The impact MWAF had on my life is tremendous because all the years I had a normal life before him, he took away just like all the years he took away when he was in my life.
After breakfast, we found a park that Lilli loved the first time we went except that time, Daron was the one stalking us and following us around. I wanted to take her back there and replace those horrible memories with good ones now.
"Mommy, can you come swing me please?"
"I'm coming."
Jake kissed me and I walked over to Lilli to push her on the swing while Jake sat across and watched us. As much as I wanted to enjoy this time with the two of them, the pain of everything didn't let me relax and calm down. Every single second I was either looking at Jake or Lilli to make sure nobody would harm them in any way.
"Are you having a good time?" I asked.
"Yes I am, this is so much fun. I am so glad we can go outside and play now. We won't have to hide again right?"
"No honey, we won't, I promise you right now. From now on we are free to do whatever we want."
That's when Jake walked up to us. He wanted to push Lilli and give me a break since he could sense that I had a lot on my mind. I don't know how he always managed to do that but he could sense whenever something was wrong with me.
"I'll take it from here. I got you." He said as he winked at me.
"Thank you."
"Hey hun daddy is gonna swing you mama is gonna go sit down."
"I actually don't want to swing anymore. I wanna go on a slide, can you come with me?"
"Let's go, I love the slides," Jake said as he grabbed her hand and they ran to the slides.
Watching the two of them freely play around the park and run around was the best feeling in the world. I was having a great time. It was just hard for me to fully enjoy the moment without the fear of him somehow returning and making this beautiful reality into a nightmare once again. It was all too good to be true. I couldn't accept the fact that he was behind bars and that my life was back to normal. It all felt too good and I was scared that in the blink of an eye it would all go back to how it was and that I would wake up to realize all this has been nothing more than just a beautiful dream.
That night when we got home I called Silas and Daron on the phone and asked if we could meet up tomorrow. They were sure that I wanted to attack them and make them feel guilty but when they heard what I said, they were both shocked.
"Look, I want to apologize to the both of you for the way I have been acting since the incident. However, I don't want to do it over the phone. If you guys are available, can we meet tomorrow?"
"I'm free in the afternoon," answered Silas.
"Yeah, the afternoon works for me as well," continued Daron.
