Tears Of Joy

I excused myself for a few minutes and went to the restroom. I had to try to calm down but I didn't want them seeing. While I was in there, I heard Dan and Harley laughing. They were having a great time and seemed to really be enjoying each other's company. I had to do it, I just had to. So I took a few deep breaths and walked back outside. 

"Okay, so I have some news I wanted to share with you guys."

"Omg don't tell me you're pregnant" shouted Dan. 

"WHAT??? NO!!!"

"So you and Evan didn't really..."

"DAN!!! NOT NOW!"

Man he really was weird at times. Pregnant? Me? Omg I didn't even know what to do with myself let alone having to take care of a baby. And wait... he still thought that Evan and I actually had sex? I'm going to kill Jessy. 

"I have been going over this in my head a thousand times and no matter how I say this, it's going to sound crazy."

"Why do you sound just like Thomas?"

Hehe he was right though. I sounded exactly like Thomas. 

"Harley? Dan? There is something I need to share with you guys."

"Ummm okay... what is it?"

"Harley, I found your brother. And Dan, I know you don't know this, but you have a sister."

"Whoa what???" Exclaimed Dan.

Harley was so shocked she just stood there not saying a single word. I don't even know what must have been going on in her mind. I'm sure she thought I was officially crazy. 

"Harley??"

"What are you talking about? You just found out that I even had a brother, how did you find him?"

"Evan... Harley is your sister. Harley, meet your brother Daniel, or Dan as we call him."

She looked at me for a quick second and ran up to him. He hugged her and she began to cry. As they were both hugging and crying, both her parents and I cried with them. I don't remember the last time I was this happy in my life. I could only imagine the emotions that they were both feeling. Just knowing that Harley had been dreaming about this day her whole life, made this so special for me that I couldn't help but cry with tears of joy. I was so happy for them both. 

"Honey, we have some news for you. We are staying here for a couple of more days and then your mother and I actually decided to move to Duskwood."

"You guys can't be serious! We have everything back home. What about your job dad?"

"Nothing is more important than your happiness. I will find another job. You have been waiting for this moment your whole life. You guys have been without each other long enough."

"I don't know how to thank you guys. I never even knew I had a sister, but something was always missing from my life. Now, I know it was Harley. I didn't even know it was possible to be this happy."

Wow! I have never seen this part of Dan. I couldn't believe the person he had become right in front of my eyes. Harley and Dan spent the next few days getting to know each other and spending the well deserved time together. When it was time for them to go home, they hugged each other and both cried like little children. I have to admit, I was crying just as bad as they were. One because of how happy they were and two, because they were all leaving and I was going to be alone. 

They would see each other again soon, which made it much easier for them to say their goodbyes. I was actually excited to know that if I ever went back to Duskwood, I would have another friend there. But in the meantime, Harley would have a great time meeting the rest of the group. I'm sure she was going to love it there.
