The first person I saw as I walked in was a nice looking older lady. I walked in closer and looked at the name badge which said "Lisa". I was so glad she was here and I didn't have to look like an idiot searching for her all over the hospital.

"Hi Lisa, I called earlier. I'm the women getting married today... well hopefully."

"Oh hello darling. Please sign in your name and I will let the doctor know you're here."

"Thank you."

I sign in my name on the little piece of paper and within a few minutes she calls my name and tells me to go in. Well damn tthat was fast!! I knew I was going to be seen soon but this was way too fast. Maybe the hospital sucked??? I don't know and I didn't care. All I wanted was to be seen and to get out of here as soon as possible.

"Hello, my name is Dr. Chambers. What seem to be the problem today?"

"Well you see, I'm getting married in a few hours and I can't seem to stop vomiting so I was wondering if you can like give me something and I can be on my way out of here."

"Congratulations. You must be excited. What time is the wedding?"

"Thank you. I am very excited and today at four."

"Oh well then we better get you checked out. Have you had vomiting before this morning?"

"No just today since this morning."

I know I knowwww, I lied. But I knew if I said that I had he would think there was something really wrong with me and I would be here much longer than necessary.

"Do you have any other symptoms?"

"Just a little headache. But I've been under a lot of stress lately, wedding and all."

"That's understandable. I will give you a Zofran shot and it will start working before your wedding and last for about eight hours which should give you enough time to get married and not worry about vomiting."

"Wow you can do that?? Well that's great."

"But before I can do that..."

"I knew there was going to be an but in there somewhere."

"I'm going to have to run some tests, simple urine and blood work. I don't want to risk it being something more serious and ignoring it completely. The results should be back within a couple of days."

"Just the urine and blood test?"

"That's it and as soon as I have that, I will give you the shot and I can get you out of here."

"Well, where do I pee?"

"Right this way, follow me."

I went and used the restroom which thankfully I had to actually use really badly. There was nothing worse than having to give your urine and not having a drop in you. So you have to sit there for an hour drinking water bottles one after another, while you watch everyone around you come and go. As soon as I was done giving my urine I walked over to the next room where a young gentleman was waiting for me to draw my blood. God, I hated this part! I don't know what it was about giving blood that always made me feel lightheaded and sick to my stomach. Maybe it was the way the needle slowly went under your skin or the way the blood just filled up the tube one by one. I always tell myself I'm not going to watch but something about it is also so intriguing that I can't help myself. Of course as soon as I am done I regret it and wish that I didn't.

"Are you ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

"Is there an arm you prefer?"
