…..
It was complete silence for a good few minutes where neither of us said anything.
I was in complete shock and in rage that he would even dare to call me after everything he had done. What is he thinking? The only reason I was here at this place today grieving the people I loved was because of him. How dare he??? What, now he was behind bars and needed something from me? But when I begged and pleaded for him to stop and to let me live a normal life, he laughed. He set me on fire and watched me burn and would have watched me burn to death if it hadn't been for Jake, Silas and Daron. What could he possibly want from me now?
Whatever it was, I had nothing to say to him.
….hangs phone up….
"Are you okay? Who was that??" Asked Jake.
"I'm fine. It was just a wrong number. One of those telemarketers, always calling for something."
"Are you ready to go? We can stop by the hotel to visit your family if you'd like."
"Yeah that sounds nice. I actually need to plan with my sister for the wedding dress shopping anyways so I'll get that done when we get there."
"Can you believe our wedding is in a week and a half?"
"No I can't. It seems to be flying and I swear I feel like I have nothing done."
"Don't worry we'll get everything done. Plus the most important thing is that we have each other."
"When are you going to get the fitting for your suit?"
"Tomorrow morning and when I get home I'll watch Lilli while you go with your sister and Jessy."
"Sounds great, let's go."
We hadn't even made it to the car yet when my phone began to ring again. This time I made sure to look at the screen to see who was calling me before I answered. Sure enough, it was a blocked number once again. I just let it go to voice-mail and ignored the call and I planned on ignoring every single one of his calls. We had absolutely nothing to talk about. He was where he belonged and I was finally moving on and learning to live my life in a somewhat normal way. I wasn't going to allow him to come right back in and drag me down that hell hole again.
Thankfully he didn't get unlimited phone calls from that shit hole he was in right now.
We got into the car and drove to the hotel. I was an emotional mess the entire day today from visiting my mom and Evan and then the whole experience with the dragonflies and now Brayden calling that I just hoped my dad or siblings wouldn't notice. The last thing I wanted was to make anybody else feel sad. I was actually very excited to get things done for the wedding. It was definitely going to be a much needed and nice distraction from everything else going on. God knows I could use some happiness and calmness in my life. Most brides to be would never use the word calm to describe their wedding planning but I've always promised that I wouldn't be one of those bridezillas.
I wanted the wedding planning process to be a fun and relaxing one. I wanted to be happy and calm leading to our special day and I made sure that I wasn't going to let anything get in the way of that.
Shortly after we had made it to the hotel and stood in front of the door of the room.
"You wanna knock and bet who gets to the door first?" I asked Lilli.
"I bet it's going to be grandpa, he always opens the door."
"Well, I think you're wrong it's definitely going to be Aileen."
"The winner gets ice cream, deal?"
"Ice cream it is!!!"
She knocked on the door and within a few seconds the door flung open. Just the way that it opened I already knew that I had won. Aileen had the tendency to open the door as if she was trying to knock the door and the entire wall down with it.
