We called our friends to see what they had planned for today. After we got off the phone with them, we got some breakfast and we all met up together. During breakfast, I saw horses outside the window. They looked so beautiful. I got up and walked outside to go see them. I don't even think they noticed that I left because they were all so into their conversation. I should have told them I was leaving, but I didn't. I walked outside, and one of the horses was staring right at me. I felt like it was almost calling out to me, as crazy as that sounds.

He was completely white and he had a black spot between his eyes in the shape of a heart. He was the most beautiful horse I had ever seen before. As I got closer to him, he also walked upright to me. I reached out my hand slowly at first making sure not to scare him, and then I began to rub his head. He was so peaceful. I couldn't believe that he was letting me pet him without even knowing who I was.

"Hey big guy. I'm Madisyn and you're beautiful aren't you?" I said.

As I kept on rubbing his head, he put his head down and leaned it against my arm. I don't know what it was about this horse that made me feel so at peace. For a while, I completely forgot about everything and was just mesmerized by him.

"He's beautiful isn't he?" I heard someone say.

I turned around and it was the owner's wife. She had greeted us with her husband when we first came to the resort.

"Yes he really is. He's the most beautiful horse I have ever seen."

"He seems to really like you. We actually have a very hard time getting him to be around people. He's very timid and frightened. When we rescued him he was abused and in very bad shape. He barely made it out alive. Ever since then, he doesn't let anybody touch him besides my husband and I."

"That's so heartbreaking. What's his name?"

"Moonshine. He is all white and almost glows so we ended up calling him that."

"Hi Moonshine, you're okay. You're all safe now. I know how much you must have been scared."

"You're great with him. Even with my husband and I he gets jumpy. Nobody has ever been able to ride him and he's been here for almost five months."

"Give him time, he'll come around. It's hard to trust people once someone who was supposed to protect and love you hurts you."

Suddenly, I heard Evan calling me. He must have been scared looking for me and noticed that I was gone. He wouldn't even expect to find me here, as I have never really talked about my love for horses before. I guess I never had the chance to talk about anything much besides all the crap going on in our lives. No wonder Moonshine liked me, he probably knew how scared, hurt, broken and traumatized we both were.

"You scared me, I have been looking for you everywhere. I thought something happened to you" Evan shouted.

"Sorry, it's just that I saw these horses while we were eating and Moonshine here got my attention,'' I replied.

"Hi, I'm Mrs.Fleming the owner of the resort and ranch. Moonshine here seems to love her just as much as she loves him."

"It's hard not to love her. She's great. I'm Evan, this is my fiance, sorry wife Madisyn."

"Nice to meet you guys. Well congratulations on your wedding."

"Thank you so much. It's nice to meet you too" I replied.

"Hi Moonshine, this is Evan. He won't hurt you, don't be scared" I said as I was rubbing his head.

He snorted once when Evan first came and moved back from the gate where he had been with me the entire time.
