While I was in the shower, I heard screaming coming from outside. However, with my water running it was hard to tell where exactly it was coming from. I assumed it was just some teenagers having a little too much fun. Just as I was finishing up, I heard the noise again. This time it was much louder and more pronounced. It was a male voice and it was coming from the cabin next door. Not the Wardens, but the ones on the other side.I didn't even know who stayed there, as I hadn't seen anybody yet. I ignored it thinking nothing of it at first, until it had become hard to keep ignoring.
At first I only heard a male voice yelling and shouting, but shortly after there was a female noise coming from the cabin as well. They must have been a couple who just got into an argument. I mean, what couple doesn't argue from time to time. Somehow, it always seems to happen the most while on vacation and trying to have a good time. I continued getting ready. The shouting had finally stopped. I looked at the time and it was a little after eight so I got dressed and headed out. Now, I wish I never had.
Remember that yelling coming from the next cabin over? Well, it turns out they hadn't stopped shouting. They were back at it again, only this time while they were outside. I wouldn't have even noticed them if it wasn't for the yelling. As I was getting ready to step outside my cabin and go over to the Wardens, I saw her. The women next door.
I actually saw her first, before I saw him. She was crying and pushing him away as I heard her saying,
"Leave me alone you bastard. I am leaving."
"Women, you don't leave until I tell you to leave."
"You slept with my best friend!!! What the hell do you want from me??"
Ohhh snap!!! Shit was about to go down.
I really wanted her to slap the hell out of his cheating ass. Some men really are idiots!!! What happened next scared the life out of me.
As she began to run towards the car, he grabbed her by the hand and pushed her down. At that point I lost my cool and wanted to go and slap him myself. I don't think they even realized I was there. Just when she got up, he grabbed her and threw her so hard against the ground. That was the exact moment I knew everything was about to change. You see, our cabins were all located by the river. That's what I asked for when I first got here. So as with any river and mountains, there are plenty of rocks, some big and some small.
When he pushed her, she fell and hit her head on a big rock that was located right behind her. The minute I saw her hit her head, I ran up to her. By the time I got to her, he was gone. He ran off like the piece of shit he was. I didn't have to chase after him, as badly as I wanted to. I tried calling her, but she wasn't responding. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket, and dialed emergency services.
"Please state your emergency and your location."
"I am at Twildwell Mountains, Riverwood cabins. There is a woman who fell and hit her head on a rock. She is unresponsive. I need someone to come right away."
"Does she have a pulse? Is she still breathing?"
The minute I heard those words, I was sent right back to the day Silas was shot and I froze. My mind went blank and my heart began to pound. I felt like I was right back there, checking his breathing and heart rate while I was watching him bleed to death. Now it was this poor woman. She was bleeding from her head and all I could do was stand there frozen in panic.
"Ma'am, can you hear me? Please check her pulse for me and tell me if she is breathing."
I snap back to reality. I put my finger under her nose and she was still breathing. Her pulse was there, but it was barely noticeable unless you paid real close attention.
