Not Just The Ex

After we were done with our coffee, we headed back home. 

Twenty, thirty minutes later we pulled up in front of the house. The second we pulled up to the house I noticed that Richy's car wasn't there. 

"Did Richy mention that they were going anywhere?"

"No, he didn't. I don't know where they could have gone. Maybe they went to get something to eat." 

"Yeah probably." 

We parked the car and walked into the house. It didn't take long to notice that Richy was at home with the baby and that it was Jake who was out. The first thing that ran through my mind was that he went back to the hotel to get Lilli or God forbid maybe something was wrong and he had to go to her. 

"Richy… where is Jake?" I asked. 

"Oh umm he… he went to the store." 

"He went to the store? With your car? By himself?"

"Yeah, I didn't want to take her outside so he went alone. He just left a little before you guys came." 

"So if I call him right now he's going to tell me that he's at the store?" 

I immediately grabbed my phone and dialed his number before Richy had the chance to answer back. The first time I called, there was no answer. So, I called again and again. Each time the phone rang without him answering. As I waited for him to answer I could feel my anger building up because now I was sure that he was with her… he was with his ex-girlfriend. If something had happened to Lilli or he needed to go and pick her up he would have called me and told me. My dad, brother or sister would have contacted me to let me know that something was wrong with Lilli. I knew for sure he wasn't at the store. So the only thing that crossed my mind was that he was with her again. 

"Richy! I promise to God I will never speak to you again if you don't tell me the truth right this second." 

"I'm telling you he went to the store." 

Jessy looked at Richy and then looked back at me. She could tell that he was lying the same way I knew he was lying. As each second passed, I became more and more frustrated and mad. I wanted to scream on top of my lungs! I actually wanted to find him with her so that I would smack them both in the face and just walk away without ever talking to him again. I couldn't believe that a few days before our wedding he was doing this to me. 

Suddenly, Jessy and Richy both got up and started going towards their bedroom. I don't know what the hell was going on but I figured it had something to do with the baby so I ignored it and tried to call Jake once again. 

Finally after what must have been my tenth time calling, he answered. 

"Hey babe, " he exclaimed. 

"Don't you dare "hey babe" me. Where the hell are you at?" 

"I went to the store and I went to pick Lilli up. Your dad called asking if I could come get her because he had some business to take care of."

"Lilli is with you right now? And why didn't my dad call me instead?" 

"Yeah she is. Hey Lilli, say hi to mama." 

"Hi mama" she exclaimed. 

"We'll be there soon. Sorry I didn't call you. I didn't want to disturb you." 

"Okay, I'll see you guys when you get here." 

Well that was a relief. I really needed to get that girl out of my mind and forget that she even exists. I don't know why my mind went straight to the idea that he was with her. I couldn't do this to myself or to him, it wasn't fair. It was going to cause arguments between us that didn't need to happen and that was the last thing I wanted.
