Almost There

So we just got back from the doctor's office and unfortunately we weren't able to see the baby since something was wrong with the ultrasound machine. I was so excited to finally get to hear that little heartbeat but as long as I feel fine and everything is okay, nothing else matters.

Soon after we got back to the hotel there was a knock on the door. Jake and Lilli were sitting and watching a show on TV so I quickly rushed to the door and opened it.

"Hi guys!" Exclaimed Phil.

"Umm hi Phil. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I came by to see you guys. I was running some errands close by so I thought I'd stop by and say hi."

"That's sweet, thank you. Come on in."

"Hiiii Phil" shouted Lilli when she saw him.

"Hey man what's up? How are you?" Continued Jake.

"Nothing much man I was just close by so I stopped by to visit and see how you're doing. How are you guys feeling?"

"We're doing good, thank God. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm okay. I've been super busy with the bar. Plus my girlfriend and I decided to move in together so we're looking for a new place."

"Oh wow that's exciting. Congratulations! We need to decide where we're going to live too. I don't think we can handle being in this hotel much longer, as nice as it is" said Jake.

"Heheh Jake is right. We need to find a place more permanent but there have been so many things going on that right now really seems like the worst time."

"Why don't you go and check out this place I was just at today? It's really nice, I loved it. The apartments are beautiful and very spacious. I was thinking of moving in there as well. The apartment I was looking at was two bedrooms and it's currently available. It's perfect for you guys since you don't need a bigger place now that it's just Lilli. Plus she will love it there..."

"What do you mean now that it's just Lilli?"

Phil looked at Jake and looked back at me without saying anything. Just as he was about to open his mouth to speak, Jake cut in.

"Did you forget that Madisyn is pregnant? It's not going to be just Lilli so we're going to need something a little bigger than two bedrooms."

"Sorry Madi I completely forgot. I have so much on my mind."

"Phil I hope you know you're a horrible liar, just as bad as Jake is. What the hell did you mean by it's just Lilli?"

And that's how I found out that I was no longer pregnant and that we had a car accident where I lost my pregnancy and almost Lilli as well.

As you can imagine my reaction and how pissed off I was at Jake for lying to me. I ran to the room, slammed the door and cried the entire day. I couldn't believe that he could look into my eyes and lie to me about something like that. I couldn't believe that I lost my memory and that each day I had to relieve the same memories over and over again. Haven't I been through enough? Hasn't my life been hard enough already that I didn't need this on top of everything else? Why was my life such a huge mess? Finally when I think something good is happening and that our lives will change for the better, it just turns even worse.

Now only was my life a complete chaos but I couldn't imagine what Lilli's and Jake's life was like now with me being in this state. How do they cope with having to explain things to me all the time? It's not even just them...but everyone I know has to be careful not to slip up and tell me the truth the same way Phil just did.
