I'm Not Running

I shouldn't have expected the truth to stay a secret for long with my sister and Daron both being there. I should have known better than that. Yet, I really hoped that at least for just today they would both keep their cool and for once think about someone else besides themselves. But clearly, I was wrong.

"Go ahead...tell them what you're here for. You didn't just stop by to have breakfast and spend some quality time with us" exclaimed Aileen.

"Aileen, will you stop? This is not the time for that" I shouted.

"Oh it's not the time? I'm sorry and when exactly is the right time? When you're already dead???"

"What the fuck is going on here" asked my brother across the table.

"Turns out Daron here is trying to be the "hero" once again. Huh Daron?"

"AILEEN ENOUGH!!!" I shouted.

Jake looked at me and got Lilli away from the table. He picked her up and took her to her room to play. The last thing I wanted was for my daughter listening to all of this nonsense. I couldn't believe my sister! I wanted to get up and slap her right across her face. What the hell was she thinking saying those things in front of Lilli? How could she be so dumb? It's bad enough I have this psychopath looming over my head that I didn't need all this extra crap in my life.

"I need all of you to calm down and behave yourselves. No screaming and shouting with a child in the house. Am I making myself clear?" Said my dad.

"Aileen is right. I am here to try and save Madisyn. Not because I want to be some "hero" but because I actually care about her and I don't want to see everyone else get hurt. It's not my intention to come and bring any drama but if any of you care about Madisyn and her staying alive, you'll get her out of here."

"What do you mean by getting her out of here?" My brother asked.

"MWAF is here in the city and he's going to kill her the second he gets the chance."

"Okay we don't know that Daron. Let's not make a big deal out of nothing" I continued.

"You might not know that but I do. I don't know if you forgot but I worked for him. All he talked about was getting rid of you. I don't know why but to him this isn't just some random crime, it's personal."

"What the fuck are you talking about?? Personal how?" My brother shouted.

"Like I said I don't know but we don't have time to sit around and find out right now. We have to get Madisyn to a safe place first."

"THERE IS NO SAFE PLACE DON'T YOU GET IT? WHEREVER I GO HE IS GOING TO FIND ME. YOU JUST SAID IT, THIS IS PERSONAL SO NO!!! I AM NOT LEAVING!"

When I said that they all just looked at me without saying anything. I knew that by not leaving I was taking a risk of being found sooner but at this point, I just didn't care anymore. I was tired of being scared and running away and hiding. It was never going to end, not for as long as he was alive and he was after me. Daron was right, this was personal. I figured that out all on my own a long time ago actually soon after all this mess started. What I didn't know was why?? MWAF wasn't just mad at me, he was mad at my whole family. I wanted to ask my dad so many times if they had something to tell me or if they had done something to somebody but I couldn't get myself to do it especially not after mom died and he had the stroke.

Nobody was going to be okay with what I wanted to do. Nobody! I already knew that but it was something that I had to do regardless of how dangerous or dumb it was. I had to turn myself in to MWAF. There was no other way to ever end this. My brother was right when he suggested this a long time ago and that's exactly what I was going to do.
