Emilyssia wasn't impressed, both Kili and Dwalin keeping her in the room she'd woken up in, saying that she just needed to rest and that it was safer in there.
She'd been overjoyed to see Kili, throwing her arms around him when Dwalin brought him to the room and they had both laughed and all the luck they seemed to be having.
Then he had told her she had to stay in the room.
"Why?" She asked, confused.
"It's safer in here, trust me." Kili said with a grim smile. "I'm sure it'll be over soon, so it's just temporary."
"What will be over?" She was irritated now. "Look, whatever it is, I can handle it, I don't need to be taken care of."
Kili and Dwalin had shared a look before Dwalin cleared his throat.
"Thorin is sick." He said. "And because of this, it-it has changed a few things. He does not trust you Emilyssia, especially around Kili. I was lucky to get him here."
Emilyssia froze, staring at them. "But, I helped against Smaug, I-"
"We know," Dwalin said, he was concerned, that much was clear. "The sickness...it's dragon sickness Emilyssia. As well as making him obsessive and protective over that gold, it has also made him paranoid, which means-"
"I get it." She said bitterly. "But you can't just expect me to sit here."
"We don't like it anymore than you do." Kili said gently. "But we can't risk it Emilyssia. The last thing I want-that any of us want to see, is you on the end of Thorin's sword."
They looked at each other.
"Pa, can I speak to Kili alone for a minute?" She asked.
Dwalin looked as if he didn't want to, but he steps out, closing the door behind him.
"Emilyssia..." Kili said softly. "You do understand-"
But she doesn't let him continue, pulling him in for a sudden kiss that left them both blushing as she pulled away just as suddenly.
Kili stares at her, stunned. "I thought-"
Emilyssia looks at her feet. "Well, I had a think about, and well, changed my mind, and, well, it's weird and complicated and-"
He gently pulled her chin up to look at him, a smile on his face. "And I thought my admission was terrible."
"Don't make me feel worse." She mumbled, down casting her eyes.
"Hey," He waits till she looks at him, still smiling. "Do I look like I care?"
A sheepish smile comes to her face. "No."
Kili then kisses her, slowly and gently, as if he'd been wanting to do it for a long time, and Emilyssia responds in kind, holding him close.
There was an awkward cough behind them.
They broke apart and saw Dwalin standing there, it very clear that he had several emotions going through him, more than a few he was fighting off.
"We shouldn't stay much longer." He finally said, looking between the two of them. "Questions will start to be asked."
"Right." Kili said and then smiles at her. "I'll come as much as I can, but you have to stay here."
Emilyssia sighs and nods. "It's fine, I get it, I do, just...you two be careful too."
They nod and leave, Emilyssia sitting on the bed more than frustrated. She was more than happy that Kili was alright and that things were finally okay between them, but she had a horrible feeling that something was going to go wrong.
