When Louis Carmichael walked out of his front door to go to Mallory Shepherd and Alex Karev's apartment in the morning, he passed by Callie Torres and Mark Sloan's apartments, which were right across the hall from one another.

However, when he did, he noticed Arizona Robbins sitting on the floor against the wall. She kept her attention focused on the door to Mark's apartment, waiting for Callie to eventually emerge and see her.

To a degree, medicine is a science.

"Arizona?" Louis greeted her with wide eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"Well," Arizona smiled at him as she answered. "I am sitting in the hallway."

"No," Louis clarified with a shake of his head. "Like, when did you get back into town? I thought you went to Africa?"

"My flight came in last night, but Callie didn't want to talk," Arizona explained, seeming optimistic with her thought process. "I've been sitting here since this morning. Because, eventually, Callie's gonna have to leave for work."

But I would argue that it's also an art.

Louis nodded slowly as he glanced back at the apartment door. Even though he didn't have any bad blood with the pediatric surgeon, he knew that when Callie walked out of the apartment, she would be absolutely enraged.

"Well, welcome back to Seattle," Louis told her, trying not to focus on the obvious negatives. "Let me know if you're interested in getting your own place. I am the apartment guy after all."

"I'm hoping that I won't need that," Arizona persisted with her positivity. "I'm really hoping that Callie and I will be able to talk this through."

"Really?" Louis questioned with a look of surprise. "You really think that's possible?"

"Don't say it like that," Arizona was quick to reply. "It's at least a maybe."

Just then, Mallory Shepherd came storming down the hallway with her eyes narrowed at Louis. Once he didn't get to her apartment within minutes, she knew that he had gotten caught in the hallway talking with Arizona.

She walked over to Louis with her hands on her hips, trying her best not to look at Arizona as she grabbed Louis by the arm. Meanwhile, Arizona shrugged her shoulders, not seeming surprised by Mallory's actions.

The doctors who see medicine as science only?

You don't want them by your side when your bleeding won't stop or when your child is screaming in pain.
