When Mallory Shepherd stopped over to Mark Sloan's apartment to visit Callie Torres, she brought her husband and son along with her. However, when they walked through the door, they were surprised to see that she wasn't in the kitchen or the living room.

"Hey," Mark greeted Carter with a smile. "There's my favorite nephew."

With furrowed brows, Mallory asked. "Where's Callie?"

"Hello to you, too, Princess," Mark replied as he continued to direct his attention to Carter. "Haven't you told your mom that it's rude not to say hello? Especially after she barged in here without knocking. I know your Uncle Derek and I taught her manners."

"Yeah, yeah. Good morning," Mallory rolled her eyes as she continued to question. "Is she in the bathroom?"

Mark nodded in response as he glanced back at his watch. "Yeah, she's been in there for like twenty minutes. Tell her that we have to leave soon."

Mallory passed Carter off to Alex as she retorted. "Will do."

"And off she goes," Mark spoke up as he eyed his brother-in-law. "And I take it you're here for the free coffee."

"I'm along for the ride," Alex clarified with a shrug. "But I wouldn't pass on free coffee."

Once Mallory went into the bathroom to check and see what her best friend was doing, Alex took Carter further into the kitchen. After he heard the bathroom door close, he took the opportunity to get an update on how the situation with Arizona Robbins had been going.

"How's everything been since Robbins came back?" Alex questioned, which made Mark raise a brow. "I wasn't sure if things had improved."

"Things are going about as well as you'd think," Mark concluded with a shrug. "Maybe worse."

"It's a tough situation," Alex nodded along. "I know she's optimistic and all, but I don't know how Robbins expected Callie to forgive her so quickly when she came back. I mean, their last exchange at the airport, from what I've heard, was bad."

"That's what I've been trying to process myself," Mark added, agreeing completely. "I guess we'll have to see for ourselves."

The next person to walk through Mark's door was Louis Carmichael. He waved to Mark and Alex as he walked through the door, even if he focused his attention on Carter, who smiled widely at the sight of his uncle.

"Hey, little man," Louis made sure to greet Carter first. "What's up, guys?"

"Carmichael," Mark greeted him with a nod before he questioned. "Since when do you walk through my door without knocking?"
