soooo, its been a year and 2 days since ive been married!!! isnt that so crazy?!?! i thought i would get married at like 25 or when i was just over it (tbf i was over it when i did get married but anyway). my husband planned the best anniversary date, we started off by going to social hideout for a nice brunch and iced coffee, then we went to taronga zoo and i told him that when i went to taronga zoo in year 8, i was hoping to come there with my husband the next time i came!!! call that manifestation

then we went to our meriton suite to change into my night outfit, and then we had amazing s*x. our A.C wasnt working so i asked my husband to ask the receptionist to get it checked out while we headed out for dinner.

we had dinner at a place called mamak malaysian cuisine and it was pretty good, we had satay chicken, mee goreng noodles with fish cakes which wasnt my fave tbh and then malay rice. we had a nice walk to hyde park where we sat and talked about how fast the year went by and then we headed home to watch a movie (american history x with some cheetos and slurpee) it was a pretty heavy film to watch to "relax" but interesting nonetheless.

for my new years plans, my first and foremost plan is to get really good experience in psychology research or smth that would make my next steps in psych easy for eg. looking for a good supervisor that will help me after my postgrad year

- my second ambition is to do the shariah course asap, ill do it slowly but surely with everything else in life

- im gonna be finishing off most of my law units this year

-be in a fulfilling job with amazing pay that will be helping me in the rest of the psych journey (finding a good supervisor, have good experience with research or casework)

- travel to hajj + pakistan (save up properly + earn)

ive honestly become very lazy under my husband's influence, its bc of his depression that i feel dragged by laziness but now that ive recognised it, i need to work against it

i should be influencing him to do better instead of falling in his rut and becoming like him - thats not who i am and ive been out of it but im back - ive started to apply to jobs, taking my fitness seriously, but gotta start eating the part. tbf i need to come up with an actionable and achievable plan and put it where i can see it EVERYDAY.

1. Specific: Your goal should be clear and specific, otherwise you won't be able to focus your efforts or feel truly motivated to achieve it.

a. I want to look different/leaner and toned in my body in all areas - focus on mobility and stretching and core

b. I want to become more learned in regards to Islam- so I can become closer to Islam and i want to do it with my MIL so that we can do it together

c. I want to have tangible experience in my field in this year before i start my postgrad next year iA

2. Measurable: It's important to have measurable goals, so that you can track your progress and stay motivated. Assessing progress helps you to stay focused, meet your deadlines, and feel the excitement of getting closer to achieving your goal.

a. i will be taking weekly photos, and be starting this *extreme* diet for 2 and a half months (which ive marked in my calendar) which includes drinking 1 gallon of water, having 2 sessions of exercise everyday and avoiding junk food/eating out as well as reading 10 pages a day.

b. well, i have started to read quraan after fajr so that i never have an excuse during the day to not do quraan. plus its a wonderful start to the day. i want to start doing my shariah course, im not sure how i would measure my progress until i start?

c. i want to keep applying to jobs until im successful

3. Achievable: Your goal also needs to be realistic and attainable to be successful. In other words, it should stretch your abilities but still remain possible. When you set an achievable goal, you may be able to identify previously overlooked opportunities or resources that can bring you closer to it.

a. i will achieve this goal by challenging my body in different ways: by doing pilates and advancing, i want to be able to do push-ups and planks (15-30 seconds hold). as well as skipping 2-3 times a week, and doing full body exercises 3 times a week focussing on compound movements

b. the shariah course is very do-able and iA will be easy enough.

c. with job-hunting i just gotta stay on top of it and not lose hope bc whatever is meant for me will get to me.

4. Relevant: This step is about ensuring that your goal matters to you, and that it also aligns with other relevant goals. We all need support and assistance in achieving our goals, but it's important to retain control over them. So, make sure that your plans drive everyone forward, but that you're still responsible for achieving your own goal.

a. this goal is very important to me bc im the leanest i have ever been in my adult life and yet i want to get leaner bc i want to see my obliques, and thats when ill know i did it, i dont want abs but i do want to look toned.

5. Time-bound: Every goal needs a target date, so that you have a deadline to focus on and something to work toward. This part of the SMART goal criteria helps to prevent everyday tasks from taking priority over your longer-term goals.

a. i want to look SUUUUUper HOT AND toned for my waalimah!!! no questions asked. girl, youre gonna do this and youre gonna do it well iA. gotta stay focused and utilise using your calendar
