Title is the song we all know very well 🙈
It was specially asked for by someone... hope I could do justice to your demand 😉

Ayush spread his arms and swirled, "Dekho Naina mumma, maine bilkul bhi no nahi bola kisi ko. Sabne kitna saara colour lagaya mujh pe. Dekho meri tshirt ka saara white lost ho gaya, jaise drawing book ke page ka ho jaata hai."

Naina patted his cheek adoringly, "I'm so proud of you. Aise hi good boy banke rehna."

"Okay." He bobbed his head and ran away.

Preeti nudged Naina, "Isko kaise pataya? Sameer ka toh samajh aata hai, tujhe akele sabke beech holi khelne ke liye kaise chod sakta hai." She winked, "Par Ayush... haldi pe kaise muh bana ke baitha tha ek kone mein aur aaj dekho, sabse zyada mazaa usse hi aa raha hai."

Naina shrugged, "Dono ko thodi inspiration chahiye thi bas."

Preeti narrowed her eyes, "Sameer ko tu ek baar aankh maar ke bol degi na, woh wahin chakkar kha jayega. Tere kehne pe holi khelna toh kya woh apne saare kapde paint kar sakta hai... aur khud ko bhi."

Naina tried to hide her shy smile, on the pretext of wiping off the colour from her face.

Preeti chuckled, "Sharmana chod aur yeh bata Ayush ko tune kaise inspire kiya."

"Ayush ki galti nahi hai Preeti." Naina let out a deep exhale, "Jab hum Agra mein the, uske zyada friends nahi the, kyonki neighbours aur relatives ko Ayush pasand nahi tha. Isliye holi pe na koi hamare yahan aata tha na hum kahin jaate the. It... it was a different life. Papa usse pichkari laa dete the aur woh paani se khel ke khush ho jaata tha. Festivals toh sab ke saath khushi manane ke liye hote hain. Lekin hamare liye... anyway, ab Ayush ke paas aisi family hai jo usse itna pyar karte hain toh main chahti hun woh saare occasions khul ke celebrate kare."

Preeti looked at the bubbly boy laughing and running around, "Kaise log hain jo Ayush jaise bachhe ke liye aisi soch rakhte hain... for that matter, kisi bhi bachhe ke liye. Kids are so pure, so loving."

Rohan tapped her from behind, "Tum bachhon ki planning bhi karne lagi? Yaar, abhi toh shaadi mein fifteen days baaki hain."

"Rohan!" Preeti rolled her eyes, frowning.

He looped an arm around her shoulder, winking at Naina, "Bhabhi, Preeti itni impatient hai, dekhna next holi hum bhi apne baby ke saath hi celebrate karenge."

"You!" Preeti screamed, but Rohan was already sprinting away, and she ran after him, threatening to call off the wedding.

Laughing at their banters, Naina looked around but couldn't see Sameer and Ayush anywhere. Nanu was seated with his friends, while Vishakha ensured that snacks were being served to their friends who were now standing in a large group in the garden, after having put colour on each other. Deepika was chatting with some teenage boys and girls, who had accompanied their parents. She could see everyone but her boys.

Thinking that they could have gone inside, she had barely turned to go, when a big splash of water hit her, followed by loud squeals of Ayush, "Yayy, maine colour wala paani daal diya Naina mumma pe."

Naina wiped the water off her eyes to find Sameer standing with Ayush who was holding a big pichkari. A huge grin on both their faces left no doubt that they had been sneaking behind her to do this.

She gave a look of fake annoyance, "Toh yeh planning kar rahe the tum dono kal se."

Ayush nodded furiously, "Sameer papa ne bola pichkari toh badi wali hi honi chahiye, jisse tumko poora bhigo dein."

Before Naina could say anything, Deepika hollered from the other side, "Very good Ayush. Ab dry holi khatam, hum sab paani wali khelenge." And she picked up the hose pipe, directing towards her group.
