Title is the song 'Teri ik hansi' by Jubin Nautiyal from the album of same name
As the doctor went out, Sameer looked at Naina. Her eyes glittering with happy tears, she palmed her mouth, the news yet not sunk in completely.
Beaming, he perched next to her, "Suna tumne... Naina, humein ek nahi do do babies milne wale hain." He wrapped his arms around her hastily, but drew back with same speed, peering at her stomach, "Uh... tumhe... tumhe pain ya kuch... hurt toh nahi hoga na?"
A nervous chuckle left her mouth as she spread her arms, "I need this hug."
Sameer gently took her in his arms, inhaling deeply in contentment, "I need it too. This... and lots more."
She drifted closer to him, "Mujhe tumhara saath aur bhi zyada chahiye Sameer. Mere paas raho."
He tightened his arms slightly, "Main tumhare paas hun Naina. Bas babies ke liye thoda concerned hun, unhe bhi jagah chahiye na."
She pulled her head back, keeping her arms around him, "Unki jagah banane ke liye tumhe door jaane ki zarurat nahi hai. Doctor ne kaha woh bilkul safe hain."
He nodded gratefully, "Haan, dono safe hain. Main toh yeh pray kar raha tha ki tum aur baby theek ho lekin aaj mujhe meri prayers se bhi zyada mil gaya. Tum jabse meri life mein aayi ho Naina, aisa lagta hai bhagwan meri har wish poori karte hain, balki bina maange de dete hain. Maine twins ke baare mein kabhi socha tak nahi tha."
"Iska matlab tumne ek baby ke baare mein toh socha tha." She searched his eyes, "Par mere liye khud ko rok lete the."
Gently, he placed a hand on her cheek, his voice softer, "Waise toh maine kabhi baby ke baare mein bhi nahi socha. Tumne sochne se pehle hi mujhe Ayush de diya. Yaad hai Naina, maine ek baar kaha tha ki main chahunga mera beta bilkul Ayush jaisa ho?"
She clearly remembered the time when Ayush was admitted to the hospital and Sameer had told her he loved Ayush as much as she did.
He smiled, "Main bhi Ayush ko sirf tumhara bhai nahi hamara beta maanta tha, baaki sab ki tarah."
She smiled with him at another memory... of the doctor mistaking them to be his parents.
Sameer lowered his eyes for a moment, "Haan, ek do baar mujhe kuch der ke liye laga ki agar Ayush ke paas bhi ek behen ho toh kitna achha hoga. Lekin woh bas ek thought tha."
Unable to see the guilt in his eyes, she threaded her fingers through his hair behind the ear, rubbing his jaw with her thumb, "Sameer, isme kuch galat nahi hai. Shayad tumhare dil ki baat hi bhagwan ne maan li."
His face again lit up, "Sirf maani nahi, bonus bhi mil gaya." He put one hand over her belly, "Tumhe feel hota hai yahan do babies hain?"
A chuckle escaped her at his query, "Buddhu, abhi toh kuch bhi feel nahi hota." She lifted his hand from her stomach and placed it on her heart, "Bas yahan feel hota hai, dher saari khushi aur bohot saara pyar."
He felt the dancing rhythm of her heart under his palm. His own heart was matching her pace. He wanted to scream and tell the whole world how happy he was.
"Mummy kahan hain?" Naina's question brought him to realisation that Vishakha was waiting outside.
"Main bulata hun." He sheepishly dashed out.
"Twins?" Vishakha could not control her excitement as she sat in front of Naina a minute later, her eyes gleaming, "Mujhe toh yakeen hi nahi ho raha."
Naina blinked a few times, "Mujhe bhi nahi."
Vishakha gave her a full blown smile, "This is the best news. Main hamesha se chahti thi mere twins bachhe hon. Woh toh hua nahi par ab twin grandchildren... mujhe abhi se itni excitement ho rahi hai pata nahi aane wale mahine kaise niklenge." She touched Naina's tummy with pride reflecting in her eyes, "Jab tum dono ek saath mujhe dadi maa bologe main khushi se pagal ho jaungi."
