Jay startled awake, and realised he was late for work.

"Shit!" Jay cursed.

Jay scrambled to get his clothes on, and rushed out of the house.

As Jay got to his truck, he pulled out his cell phone, and quickly texted Erin.

Jay Halstead
Tell Voight. I'm running late.
Going to see Will.

Jay pushed the button, and drove to Med.

Soon. Jay arrived into Med, and walked to the reception desk.

"Leah? Is Will here?" Jay wondered.

Leah looked up from her papers, and shook her head.

"No. Natalie took Will out for some lunch. Do you need some medical care?" Leah asked.

Jay wasn't sure if he should get checked out, but he knew it was best not to leave anything unchecked.

"Yeah. I-I think I need an x-ray on my wrist..." Jay admitted.

Leah nodded, and handed Jay a clipboard.

"Fill out your details, and a doctor will be with you, shortly." Leah smiled.

Jay took the clipboard, and sat down on the vacant chair.

At the district. Erin got the message, and Hank walked out of his office.

"Where's Halstead?" Hank crossed his arms.

Erin looked at Hank, and replied.

"He's at Med. Seeing Will..." Erin answered.

Hank nodded, and walked back into his office.

Erin sighed, she didn't believe Jay's excuse.

At Med. Jay was in a treatment room, and Mason was his doctor.

"Here's a gown for you, change into that, and I'll chase up x-ray." Mason explained.

Jay nodded, and took his clothes off, and got into the gown.

"I'll find X-Ray!" Mason suggested.

Jay lied against the pillows, and looked at the celling.

"Okay. Lie straight, and it'll only take a second." Mason replied.

Jay did what he was told, and waited for the x-ray to be over.

"Stand Clear! X-Ray!" The technician called out.

Mason looked at the results, and looked at Jay.

"You got a small fracture, nothing what can't be fixed with a cast. How'd it happen?" Mason wondered.

Jay looked at Mason, and came up with a lie.

"Fell over my own feet..." Jay laughed.

Mason nodded, but he knew Jay was lying.

"Okay. Monique is gonna cast your wrist up, and you should be good to go!" Mason responded.

Jay nodded, and put his arm on the holder, while he waited for his arm to be casted.

Later on. The unit were all having lunch, and that's when they noticed Jay.

"Hey!" Adam smiled.

The unit all smiled, and Erin walked over to him.

"You good? You took a long time..." Erin whispered.

Jay smiled, and nodded.

"Yeah. Will needed me to talk to a patient..." Jay lied.
