Jay settled into the stiff chair, trying to find a comfortable position for his back.

As the team hurried by, Jay's voice cut through the commotion.

"ERIN!" Jay's voice rang out.

Turning, Jay saw his wife and embraced her.

"How are you feeling?" Erin asked.

With a heavy sigh, Jay whispered back, "I feel dizzy..."

Erin guided Jay back to the chair, tenderly sweeping his hair from his forehead.

"You look exhausted, man!" Adam remarked.

Jay raised his eyes and let out another sigh.

"You think? I'm barely running on fumes," Erin confided in a hushed tone.

Erin slid into the seat beside Jay and leaned in to whisper.

"Just lean forward a bit, and I'll give your back a rub," Erin offered gently.

Jay, restless with discomfort, shifted and leaned forward, welcoming the gesture.

"These chairs are a nightmare for my back; they're hitting right where it triggers my nausea," Jay murmured, a hint of distress in his voice.

Erin's lips formed a pout while Jay took a leisurely sip of his coffee.

"What brings you here?" Hank inquired.

Jay attempted to reply, but all that emerged was a low groan.

"Why all the tension?" Erin murmured.

With a sigh, Jay found his voice and began to speak.

"Are you familiar with the concept of a 'Bedroom-Night-Shift'?" inquired Jay.

The team members indicated their unfamiliarity with a collective shake of their heads, prompting Jay to adopt a more upright posture.

"Hold on, bend down once more; I haven't finished," Erin whispered softly.

Jay bent down again, releasing a tired sigh, and responded.

"Alright. Ashlyn was having a nightmare, and I was trying to sleep on that mattress. Just couldn't find a comfy spot, and now my muscles are all twisted..." Jay recounted.

The team members acknowledged with nods and took their seats.

As Erin applied more pressure to Jay's back, he couldn't help but release a sob. "Does it have to be so deep?" Jay asked, his voice quivering.

Hearing the distress in his voice, Erin ceased her actions and drew Jay into a comforting embrace.

Erin planted a kiss on Jay's head and murmured soothingly, "Lay your head against me. I'll be gentle with the back rub..."

Jay sniffled, dabbing at his eyes.

"Feeling any better?" Erin's voice was a soft murmur.

With a nod and a quiet murmur, Jay responded.

"Sweetheart, let's head back. We've got that big, comfy bed waiting at home," Erin coaxed gently.

Rising, Jay clasped Erin's hand firmly.

"I'll shoot you a text if we decide to go through with dinner!" Erin promised, raising her voice a bit.

Acknowledging with nods, the team exchanged their farewells.

Erin climbed into the truck and headed back to the apartment.

Hours later, Erin and Jay found themselves on the couch.

With Jay's head resting on her lap, Erin tenderly massaged his temples.

"I can't close my eyes. I-I'm tired..." Jay murmured wearily.

Erin carefully shifted Jay onto his back and positioned herself on his lap.

"It's okay. They'll close soon..." She whispered soothingly.

Jay groaned and sighed.

After. Erin gently sat in between Jay's legs.

Erin softly traced light circles beneath Jay's eyes, watching them begin to droop.

"See, your eyelids are heavy. You'll be asleep in no time," Erin said, her smile warm and comforting.

Jay stretched out and nestled into Erin's lap.

"Oh, you have your surgery scheduled for tomorrow at noon," Erin remembered.

Jay let out a groan followed by a sigh.

"Which one?" Jay mumbled sleepily.

Erin glanced over the email again before responding.

"It's another round of laser eye surgery," she informed him.

Jay groaned louder this time and sat up abruptly.

"Again? Do you remember the intense pain I suffered after the last time?" Jay asked, his voice tinged with apprehension.

Erin nodded sympathetically and gently massaged Jay's shoulder.

"I remember, which is exactly why I'll be here to take care of you once more," Erin said, her smile unwavering.

Jay chuckled softly and planted a kiss on Erin's forehead.

"You're such a mess," Jay teased with a light giggle.

Erin's giggle joined his, her smile beaming.

Hours later, the door burst open with a bang.

Cassie strutted in, beaming from ear to ear.

"I'M BACK!" she announced, grinning widely.

Erin and Jay couldn't help but smile as they rose to greet her.

"Hey there, Sweetheart!" Erin sang out.

Embraces were exchanged, and then Adam stumbled in, lugging suitcases.

"Two weeks away, and it's like you've packed a mountain!" Adam gasped.

Cassie chuckled, agreeing with a nod.

"Let's just say the shopping was too good, and my credit card's maxed out," she admitted.

Erin and Jay were laughing while Adam took a sip of his water.

"How was the flight?" Jay inquired.

Cassie sat down and responded.

"Not bad. Actually, I ended up sitting next to two really sexy assed guys..." Cassie exclaimed.

Jay playfully slapped Cassie's shoulder and chuckled.

Later, everyone had gone to bed.
