Erin was in the bullpen when she noticed Hailey approaching alone, without Jay.
"Where's Jay?" Erin asked.
Hailey sighed and gave a noncommittal shrug.
"He mentioned he had something to do," Hailey responded.
Erin pulled out her phone, attempting to track Jay's location.
Signal lost.
"His phone is off..." Erin murmured.
Hailey listened to what Erin said and responded.
"He's probably okay?" Hailey affirmed with a nod.
Erin rose and murmured.
"Jay doesn't just switch off his phone..." she murmured.
Approaching Hank's office. Erin knocked.
"I have to run an errand," Erin announced.
Hank glanced up inquiringly.
"Why? You just got here! What could be more important than your job?" he inquired.
Erin looked away and exhaled deeply.
"Jay is missing," she confessed.
Hank exhaled and gave a nod of understanding.
"Go then, but be quick! I don't wanna be down two detectives! Also, keep your radio on!" He instructed.
Erin acknowledged with a nod and closed the door behind her.
Erin ran downstairs and got into her truck and drove out of the parking lot.
"This is 5021 Lincoln: Hold me down at 1200 South Walcott. I'm on a personal..." Erin radioed.
Erin exited the driver's side and approached the figure seated on the sidewalk.
"Jay?" Erin called out.
Jay glanced up, his breaths hitched.
"Oh, baby," Erin murmured.
She went to him and enveloped Jay in her embrace.
"God, you're shaking, bubs," Erin breathed out.
Jay trembled, feeling his chest tighten.
"I can't breathe..." Jay struggled to say.
Erin grasped Jay's hand and stroked his back.
"Deep breaths, baby. In and out," she soothed.
Jay obeyed, his eyes shut, breathing deeply.
"There you go. Your chest is loosening," Erin confirmed with a nod.
Jay exhaled and averted his gaze.
"What's happening?" Erin inquired.
Jay just shrugged, resting his head on Erin's shoulder.
"Let's go home," Erin whispered tenderly.
She assisted Jay to his feet and they made their way to the truck.
Erin and Jay quickly arrived at the apartment where Erin had gave Jay, his heart medication and they both settled in for the evening.
